Default Jaguar Curb Appeal

I’m new to Jags, and I feel that almost all are very attractive vehicles. However, (I’m admittedly biased, but...) I feel the F-TYPE is the sexiest.

Your thoughts? (Let’s play nice!)

Of current model Jags absolutely no argument (well at least from any rational person) but I think if you throw the field wide open you might get some argument from fans of older Jags such as the last two XKs, E-Type, Mark 2 and XK 120/140.

Jaguar has a great track record for building good looking cars. They even made the Mondeo look reasonable with the X-Type.

I've only had my F-Type a couple of weeks now but I'm already surprised at how many random compliments I get on the thing. A lot of "I'm not normally a car person but your car is beautiful!" type of comments.

You don't get into a list like this by being ordinary:

I think with the hips and curves it is right up there in the sexy stakes, but I like some of their more aggressive cars as well (especially the XFR-S and the Project 8) and my all time favorite is the XJ220. Even the iPace is very pretty from some angles, I tend to think that if the new XJ is a stretched and sexed up version of it, it will be an amazing looking car.

A friend owned an XJ220 and said it was a beast in a straight line but not particularly good otherwise. I have no direct knowledge of his claim and did not know him during his ownership of that car, but I did drive his Ferrari Testarossa and it was not at all user friendly as a street machine.

The F is the best looking car of the 21st century so far, and that goes for Pagani, Bugati, everything.

I think the D was the best looking car of the 20th century. The thing I like about it is the build style as much as the design. By its appearance it tells you every car was hammered out by craftsmen and each one would be a little different.

Well, my salesman said in our first chat, "The F type is the spiritual successor to the E type." All of my 11 Jaguars have been beautiful, with the F topping the list IMHO. I often have found myself in my garage, just gazing at the lines of the current occupants. At one point we had 3 on hand, and a favored memory is all of them aligned for a photo shoot. And then, when you "light 'em up" it confirms that beauty is more than skin deep. The sweetness of these rides for hours -- or minutes -- on the road illustrates what few have experienced.

+1 Same here. I've only had my '20 F-Type R for approx. 10 days and have received numerous compliments. Had one guy actually
stop in the cross walk to look at the car. He finally realized he better get movin' but before he started to head to the other side he gave us a big old thumb's up. Stopping in traffic brings the most wave's and "Love your car"

Those who are new to Jaguars find this positive attention extraordinary. Those who have owned Jaguars previously are quite accustomed to it. Jaguars are always noticed in this positive way. I have told this true story before, but it is my favourite:

Last year, filling the tank of my BRG coupe at a gas station. A woman in a new BMW SUV come up to the other side of the pump. She looks at my F-Type for a while and then she tells me that my car is beautiful (I knew that) and then asks what kind of car it is. The following is verbatim: "A Jaguar F-Type". "Oh! I have always loved the way Jaguars look but I have been told that they break down in the middle of nowhere for no reason."
Having heard this nonsense many times before, I smiled and said that this was a myth propagated by BMW owners. Strangely, that ended our conversation.

I'm not sure I entirely agree. I can probably count on one hand how many times I was complimented on my XFR in 4+ years of ownership.

Sorry, but what is an XFR? (I’m new to jaguars.)

I’m sure not ALL Jaguars (while beautiful) are not as iconic.

It is a supercharged XF, and yes, they are beautiful. Taken collectively, there is no other single marque that has produced so many beautiful cars over its history .Here are some of mine that qualify as beautiful, and iconic, I think:
1966 3.8 Mk 2 in Pale Primrose:

1992 V12 Vanden Plas, #92 of the last 100 built, Black Cherry:

2007 XK, Jaguar Racing Green:

2015 V6S F-Type in British Racing Green Xirallic:

The legacy is hudge, but the new MY21 turned out badly to be on the list. As I was already saying the headlights from new Hyundai i30 would fit better as this ice-cube corner.
Because you can also make led spots with round lamp covers as the Koreans did. And this would look much more stylish for a legendary super car. If I had to buy my car now, and no former stock of <MY21 staying, I would prefer to buy it used.

Females are the best judge of a male peacock's beauty, (males forget that sometimes and try to impress other males)

I have never known another car to strike a cord with women the way the curvaceous Jaguars do. So many mindblowing instances.
Men would think that a Ferrari or a Lamborghini would have greater appeal- they would be wrong, its screams ostentatious flamboyant chauvinist (to women sensitive to that).

Th best one, my friend who has the best of the best and passively ridicules me about Jaguar not being a true sports car, or well engineered, his wife says to him upon seeing my Jag from the back, 'honey you would look so good in that'.

I was approached by more women when I had my midnight blue 86 VDP. The car always turned heads 16 - 20 years after it was built. One woman even gave me her phone number. My wife said it was because of my looks. I reminded her that not a single woman has ever approached me when I'm in the dodge mini van or any other car for that matter.

Anyway, it was the first Jaguar I was personally drawn to for its elegant design.

The X150 leaves every other modern Jaguar in its dust.

Queen and Country,
I don't find any Lamborghini since the Miura very attractive because of all the plastic "gingerbread" they feel the need to adorn every one of their cars, especially the Aventador. I find their shapes chunky and clunky with little or no sensuality. Ferrari, for me, does a better job (in most cases) of making a sensuous automobile, and I think that Jaguar has always produced cars whose shapes ooze that description. One of my pet peeves in automotive design are exaggerated door stampings that put artificial creases and indentations in door and body panels that don't have any styling logic or flow to them. (The Dodge Charger comes to mind as one of the worst examples). Jaguars have never stooped this low and have uninterrupted, flowing body panels that make them look feline and sexy. It's certainly why I have always admired their styling. Mercedes and the BMW Z4 have also been guilty of the stamping craze.

tberg,
Ferrari and lamborgini make some spectacularly beautiful cars. But there is an unapproachable / in your face arrogance to them that I cannot describe. Some of it because of what you say, where the styling elements are not functional and thus all hat cowboy.
The best way that I can describe it is this; can you imagine the advert below, for a design house, using something other than what they have- without competing with the subject at hand, graceful design.
