Default Jaguar F-Type (2014 Base) Pressure Bleeder

I contacted the closest Jag dealer up here in Hooterville inquiring as to the going price for a brake system flush and fill. After spending 5 minutes on hold, the lady came back on and told me they will get back to me. Today is day 3, no response. Were they insulted that I asked the price? I must be below their social status. I am in their system for my former fluid change and some warranty work. So, I got disgusted and started calling independents. As soon as they hear Jaguar, they go into shock. We don't work on Euro cars or they use some sort of "special" brake fluid which only dealers can get, etc., etc. Well, I've watched some chap on YouTube doing his own using a Motive Power Bleeder. One man operation. Looking up their website they specifically say the two models under Jaguar, Motive 0100 and I believe the other was 0109 may work depending on the cap used on the master cylinder? The chap on YouTube didn't mention if Jag used different caps from 2014 to the present. Does anybody out there know or have a 2014 Base and use the Motive Pressure Bleeder? If so, does the bleeder cap fit? Which model? Finally, although I downloaded the factory Jag brake bleeding and flushing instructions which are pretty straight forward (meaning most repair garages should have been able to handle the job) they don't mention the necessity of or instructions on how to disengage the electronic emergency brake. I do own the i-Car Jaguar/Land Rover OBDII scanner. As always, have a good day.

You will be MILES ahead to do your own work if possible!
But yes I don't know any shop that is real interested in doing brake fluid flushes unless it's a race shop.

I did have the Motive Power bleeder but it never worked worth a darn for me? I finally sold it after it sat on my shelf for a few years.
Not saying others have not had success but it was always a battle to find the right cap adapter and then get it installed with no leaks.
I have found after many long years I still get the best results with the old fashion two man method. One guy pushing on the brake pedal and the other guy at the wheel operating the bleeder port.

If interested you might consider using speed bleeders? Do note they come in different sizes so figure out what thread size you need before ordering! About $25 for 2 so for the car it would be $50.
Speed Bleeders

These have been out for a while and I plan to give them a try. Many excellent reports and it's a real good simple idea too.
They also have a speed bleeder bag which is also interesting and not that expensive either?

I just release the EPB before shutting the car off. No problems bleeding. But you do bring up another issue with brake bleeding? The ABS system traps a small amount of brake fluid under high pressure to be used to supply emergency braking. This is completely isolated from the normal brake system. So when you bleed the brakes you are NOT changing the fluid in the ABS. Many people are VERY confused on this point and will insist that you can "force" brake fluid thru the ABS. It does NOT work that way!!

SDD and some advanced after market scanner's can cycle the ABS pump on command. This will change the fluid. In fact I have recently seen where a scanner can perform an automated brake bleed just using the ABS pump. So simple too! You open the brake bleeder valve that you want to bleed. Then activate the ABS pump. Watch the fluid coming out until it's clean and stop the pump.

I must also say watch the fluid level in the MC!! It's easy to run out and start pumping air back in after you have spent all that time getting it out!

You might want to check that i-car unit to see if it can do this?

This document includes directions for deactivating the electronic parking brake. It doesn’t engage automatically on my car, but it does on later MY (not sure when that started. My ‘18 XE automatically engages the EPB.)

I use an inexpensive VACUUM bleeder for our cars. Just did the F-Type for the second time.

^^ These pumps don't last forever after use, but they are cheap enough to buy every 4 - 5 years. I perform this maintenance on several neighbor's cars and our daughter's cars...

Why would you need to disengage the EPB just to do a fluid flush?
