Jaguar F type v6 340 hp Spec sheet question about engine designation
Hello Guys, recently I was reading spec sheet and on the configuration list was written : « ENGINE POWER SOURCE - 340/450 »
What does 340/450 mean? I was thinking maybe it suppose to say that the v6 3.0L engine can handle 340hp to 450hp and is the same for the 380hp model?

PS is a little more than traditional (American) horsepower, 1 PS = .98 HP so 340 PS = 333 HP.
450 is the maximum torque in Newton metres (Nm) and 1 Nm = .738 ft/lb ("foot pounds" again the old-fashioned American term) so 450 Nm = 332 ft/lb.
The mechanicals of both engines are identical the difference is entirely in the tune so both can handle the exact same amounts of power and torque.
Look at my signature to see the difference in HP and PS. (As rated by JLR, of course, we see you have a question about THAT, too)
But don't take my word for it, after all I'm American, and I think of a kilometer as this big:
