Default Jaguar Remote app

Is anyone actually using this app to remote start amongst other functions.
Im trying to figure out compatibility with my 14' R.
My sister bought the 2020 evoque and uses it, seems to work great!

I think you are out of luck, I believe it wasn't available on/for the F-Type until at least the 2016 model year.

Ive got a 2016 and can track my trips and see if its locked etc. However the remote start screen is not there. Shame as i used it a lot on my 2017 XE to defrost and warm the car on freezing winter mornings. I think there are 2 different levels of subscription.

Dammit. Ive got an awkward garage and it wouldve been ideal for engine warm ups.

I have the remote start and lock/unlock function on my 2016 up until recently. Not sure if it's an iOS issue but although I get the status and location update, journeys have stopped updating and the remote unlock/lock spins and times out telling me there is a network connection problem. Jaguar corporate said I should contact my dealer who said they didn't know of any known issues but would take the car in for review if the telematics module needed update. Good old Jaguar Austin, see you at the end of January....

I've been using the remote start on my MY18 recently now it's got cold here. It frequently pops up a message saying I'm in a poor signal area and should move the car, but the function still works. Only downside is that when the car goes into deep sleep (after 2 days, not 4 as advertised) all bets are off. I've found that using the fob to unlock and relock the car does the trick to wake it up, but that obviously only works within fob range. I'm using the app on an Android 'phone.

Interesting. Didnt know about the deep sleep downside.
I drive it only on weekends, so i guess that would have been a constant issue.

Any known workaround to get this working for the older models?

The app does have a Wakeup option that enables you to set a date on which the car will come out of its slumber. Of course, you have to set it while the car is still contactable.

The remote app was first available on the US MY16 (EU calendar 15?). Remote start available to all with inControl capability (Remote app needed on device) except MT.

I use the remote start on my '16 all the time. When I leave work, I click start so by the time I get to the car, it's the right temperature inside.

And I just love hearing it start from outside.

The other day I was really surprised with the range. I left a parking garage and wasn't sure about having double locked the car. Peeked back to the car from the stairwell,
must have been around 80-100m , and it blinked the indicators ! Phone would not have managed, two floors down-under the ground..

Been using the app every day. Sometimes for remote start, sometimes for checking the position to understand whether the car was towed lol.
Also when I'm not around it helps to open the trunk or doors if someone needs it, used this feature at least twice

I used the 'beep & flash' to scare away a rusty old van that was about to park in front of my car, in a gap I could see was far to small.

I was in a restaurant in Spain. looking out of the window, keeping an eye on the car. The guy drives past, starting to back up [ in line ].
So when he is starting to do this I 'beep & flash' through the phone, which is no exact science [ can take up to a minute to actually happen].
But it beeped when it was about a meter from the front. The guy pulled away and didn't return..

The position doesn't update when the engine is off so it's no good for that. The only position saved is where it was the last time the car was shut off.

In mine the position can take well over an hour to update, in spite of the journey data knowing exactly where the car is.

For me it took days sometimes ! When I was driving through the Alps, navigating with the car, it would persist it was on a previous location.
Worse : it would say 'window open, doors unlocked, alarm off' .. ..while everything was closed and double locked !

I informed my dealer. What if the car is stolen and this wrong data ends up with the insurance ???

Just looked at my Journeys after several days of not checking and the latest journey listed is from Thursday even though the car has been driven every day since.
