@fujicoupe
Exactly. How about the status of the car ? Is it correct : " locked alarm on" ?

If you leave the app open on your phone, it will stay updated on a more current basis.

Damn! Although the route and position is always updated as soon as I finish my ride and go to the app. No delays.

I have an S AWD 2016. In OCT 2019 Took it to the service department near me to replace a sun shade. Picked it up and the app would not pre start the car or register any more trips, everything else worked. So i take it back and they decide to erase my account and "start again" BIG MISTAKE.

That was three months ago. I have taken it to three dealers, opened a case and there still is no repair. Car has been at the dealer now for 12 days. They tell me it will not see the server and are replacing the antennae. The whole shark fin unit has been replaced already with bluetooth issues and I do not think they have updated this app or its functions in 4 years. I am really disappointed with the lack of knowledge, inability to repair it, and lack of resources from the UK with expert experience. JLR Has been great to deal with, just frustrated with repairs for the car. This is one of maybe 10 issues I have had over two years. Wrong sized gas nozzle to tank, replacement of shark fin module, Roof screen jams and breaks, overflow tank is wrong shape and size, I am pretty sure I have a lemon. Been in the shop at least 34 days in total. All my modules are updated and my car shows no errors. Anyone else experience this?

Not with my MY 17 F Type however, I have a 2016 XJL Portfolio and I'm having very similar problems as you have described. JLR opened a case, they had my car for about 3 weeks and still no resolution. JLR, as it appears clearly knows how to produce great looking vehicles but when it comes to software technology, very disappointing.

so they gave you your car back after three weeks and it’s not repaired?
why would you take it back? Just asking.

Just because a silly smartphone app doesn’t work, certainly would not dissuade me from driving the car.

How the connection between the car and phone is established? Does the car have SIM card and everything goes thru Jaguar servers, or is it WiFi/BT connection directly between the car and a phone?

Yes, the car has an internal SIM card. I read somewhere that comms to the car is done via SMS, anyone confirm or deny that?

I think there may be an internal SIM card in the telematics module behind the panel between the seats...I might take a look to confirm

I took it back because, if you can believe this they stated that the fix is "on its way..." They went on to say, "we won't know if the fix works until we do another download" I inquired, "you mean to tell me that JLR does not confirm the content of a software patch" The answer I received was "yes, they don't tell us what the software releases consist of". They also told me me that their service department was booked out 6 to 8 weeks.

Final exchange, "give me the keys..."

No, your driving info is sent to FBI, NSA, & IRS first, then on to Russian & North Korean hackers' servers next, only then it gets routed back to your app sayin' that your doors' unlocked & you're almost out of gas...
