Default Jaguar ReRun App

I spotted a new app in the store that details functionality available to MY18. You can apparently use the infotainment system to control a GoPro that is paired to your phone, and in turn the app will provide the GoPro video with telemetry data about your drive.

Looks cool. Unfortunately, based upon past experience with InControl apps, it will only work every 5th or 6th time you try it.

Thought this would get a little more interest. Maybe once the 18s start to arrive in April.

You should mentally prepare yourself for a delay. They happen frequently.

Agreed... you will most likely not get your car on time. And in extreme cases people have received theirs 3+ months late. Or a different car all together.

My 2017 was supposed to come March 15, then got delayed until 4/15, but actually arrived on 4/1.

Again, don't get your hopes up. Very frequently when you're buying a car as soon as the new model year comes out there are problems the OEM hasn't fixed yet. When this happens they hold the cars in the shipping yard until the fixes for these problems are available.

For 16MY vehicles in the US, all of the vehicles were shipped to Baltimore and then sat for over a month waiting for radio and transmission software updates. And for the car I ordered, they proceeded to brick the transmission when updating the vehicle and I waited another two months for them to try and get a new transmission module before telling my dealership to find me another car. That car took over 6 months to arrive at a dealership after hitting american soil.

So back on topic - has anybody actually tried the app with their gopro on say a 2016 MY with the InTouch USB port ? There's a difference sometimes between "is it supported" and "will it work" as we say in the software game...

Sad face.

Your vehicle is not compatible with this app.

Oh well. According to the fine print I thought as much but hoped maybe they weren't actually doing a version check ;-)

You can still get the same final product using your GoPro and a bluetooth OBDII transmitter (they are like $5 for the cheap ones and haven't seen one priced above $25). You will also need to download the Garmin Virb App.

The Garmin app will work with a GoPro ? RaceRender and TrackAddict seem alternatives which are a bit more work...

yes. You will need to save your GoPro video file on your laptop and import it from the app. Then you simply choose the overlay that you want and import the data from the OBDII bluetooth module to populate the overlay fields and you got the same thing as the ReRun app.

OK, I hate being told NO, I have a Hero5 GoPro I am no expert on, just bought for a vacation this summer and have yet to edit all my video. What I did just learn is you can turn on 'Gauges' for Info Cluster, Speed Tracker, GPS Path, Speedometer, G-Force - the caveat is in settings GPS must be turned on.
here is a link to a how-to video
