Default Just drove my F-Type Home-OMG I'm In Love

The only option I didn't get was the spare tire. Fully optioned there is only about a $7K difference in the price between the 6S and the 8 so even though I kind of liked the sound of the 6 with active exhaust a bit better I went for the 8. Apparently you can't get launch control on the 8 because they are worried the tranny will come apart. My wife said it best, "this is the most amazing car I've ever driven". I think I've died and gone to heaven. Initial pictures of when we picked the car up below.

Congrats! I drove the 8S to day (black/black). You have an amazing performing and looking car. I liked the sound of the 8S--it was loud. Can't image the 6S sounding better.

The 6 sounds a bit more like an F1 car to me, more exotic. The 8 more like a Cobra. But the 8 clearly has more kick and the kick won out. You'll have to try the 6 with active exhaust and tell me what you think.

Dang that car is sharp in black. For looks I prefer coupe's, but that is a sharp looking car.

Congrats!

Rob - congrats - great looking car. Good move on not getting the spare - went to the dealer event this weekend and they had a V6S with the spare - took up the whole trunk. Test drove a satellite grey V8S and wow what a car!!! If I didn't have my daughter starting college in the fall, it would have gone home with me!

Haven't had a chance to look at the 6 with active exhaust. I fully agree, the F1 is a more desirable and exotic sound; however, with the large power difference on the V8 I would go for the V8. Your V8 S with the options and color looks so good!

This is a great looking car, the black makes her look so sleek. Great choice! My favorite color combo so far.

Congrats.

Rob,

The F-Type looks superb in that colour combo. I can see exactly why you're in love!

Enjoy! what a super car - my ideal, but with a manual trans

Did Jaguar fit the 'push to pass' KERS technology into the F?

Thumbs up Black is Beautiful

Awesome car ! The Blade wheels complete the look. I havn't seen a black one with Blade wheels in dealer stock. Did you order it ? Black is the best color , but I live in the midwest with lots of rain so whenever I wash my Lunar Grey I'm thankful I didn't go black. Biggest regret that I have was not somehow working with the dealer to get Blade wheels. $2500 option $8000 through parts dept. !
Enjoy your new black beauty !

We ordered it and they found one in transit so rerouted it to the dealer. I'd requested the Graphite pack and that was the only thing that didn't make it. Dealer is still sorting that as I really didn't want the chrome side vents. Strangely it came with black roll bar loops and hood scoops which look fine but that's like half of the black pack which seemed strange. I'm actually OK with the black parts I got. Agree Black is the most interesting color, we saw all but the green (and I'm not a green fan).

No, damn it, push to pass is waiting for the hybrid. That would have been amazing.

Default Pictures of my babies together

Figured I'd shoot both my XKR and F-Type together. You really get a sense that this isn't a small car. As a side note put the car in dynamic/sport mode and stood on it at the light. OMG this thing is wicked fast from a standing start.

Default Nice!

I dropped by my dealer yesterday and they had a new F sitting next to an XKR-S convt. You're correct, the size difference isn't as much as you'd think. Yet, the XK seems so much larger inside.
