Question Leaper picture in Instrument Panel

I came across a picture of the interior of the F-Type with the Leaper screensaver picture in place of the usual display in the Instrument Panel. Anyone know if this can be configured or whether it was a promotional pic? I don't find the milage, gear I'm in and digital speed interesting most of the time.

Thanks

It's configurable on your display menu. I have it on a '14 base car.

The bottom left button next to the screen toggles between regular display, blank screen, or whatever logo or other choice you've selected. An analog clock is another option.

Thanks Foosh, but I think you are referring to the centre console screen, not the instrument cluster. The picture I posted shows the gas, temp display etc. replaced by a Leaper picture as well as the centre screen showing the same.

Ah, yes. I misunderstood.

I think that may be a promo picture as you originally suggested. On the other hand, I haven't looked for it in the instrument cluster menu because I drive in manual mode all the time. Even though I can judge the revs pretty closely with my ear, I like the visual confirmation of gear selection. The digital speed display is also more convenient than looking at the analog speedo.

I get it in instrument panel at shut off and entering. I selected it for the touch screen and maybe it came along?

Well I'll be damned . . . you're right!!!! I'd never noticed it before. The touch screen is so much more prominent, I guess that's where my eyes went.

I just opened my door, and the leaper instantly appears in both places as soon as you open the door, and before touching anything. I also have the leaper selected in touch screen, and as you say "it came along" on the instrument cluster.

[EDIT] P.S. But, there doesn't seem to be anyway to keep it on the cluster with the engine running, while you can keep it there on the touch screen by toggling the screen display button between regular, dark, and whatever display option you choose.

Interesting. It looks as if the leaper doesn't 'come along' when you set it for the touchscreen as setting the clock there leaves the leaper in the cluster as default on entry It was worth a shot! I kind of like the look.

Just to update this old thead, on the 2016 you can set the leaper to be displayed while driving . I found this while trying to set the display to the analog clock that is shown in the web shots of the interior. Has any 2016 owner figured out if the analog clock is available on the menu display on the instrument panel? If it is, how do I set it to be displayed?

The clock option I think is only available on the touch panel, not between the gauges

I'm not near the car at the moment, but if it is possible, it's in the menus found through the button on the steering wheel. Car settings maybe?

Also, that center section seems to change if I am driving in regular "D" more, and if I am in "S" mode it displays the gear selection.

Pushing the steering wheel menu button gives you access to the display settings for that cluster display. Check boxes are provided that allow you to determine what is displayed by toggling through the screens with the button at the end of the turn signal switch cluster. The analog clock is not an option. Also, no D/S mode switch for the MT. D/S modes are executed manually by the loose nut behind the wheel.

The Jaguar is only displayed between the gauges before you push the start button.

Thank you. I knew there were some options there but not sure what without looking... (Maybe someone better torque that loose nut down...)

Bummer. ..like the analog clock look...very Aston Martin..very British. BTW, I was able to get the leaper by choosing logo and it stayed on while I drove a short distance. Mine is a spd mt if that makes a difference.

So is mine.
I usually leave the clock up on the touch pad, but I agree, it would be classier in the middle of the instrument cluster. More first world problems. How do we possibly cope?

That that I'd want Jeremy's angelic face blessing my touch pad, but how could someone hack the photo of their choice in as a screen saver?
