Default Leather Bubbling on Door Panel

For those with extended leather package...have you observed this immediately above the stitching? I can't tell if its bubbling or if its from a poor glue job...kind of like when you use too much white glue on construction paper.

That looks like water damage getting in through the seam.

I don't have that on F Type, but one of the rear doors on my X351 XJ has a similar appearance all along the seam. It is barely noticable unless the light glances off of it like in your photos, and unfortunately I only noticed when it was out of warranty so I'm living with mine.

Can you feel a seam under there? Is it possible to just push it back against the plastic or is there something physically there? On my XJ I can push it back but it pops off again by the next time I clean the car.

Mine looks smooth and even. Sounds like a trip to dealer might be in order.

That should not happen with the premium leather. Have it replaced. The whole door panel will have to be replaced.

It still looks like water damage to me. Was that window left open during a rain shower? I have shoes that look like that just above the seam.

I am interested/amused/mystified why this word was censored by the mods, it was not in any way obscene, it may have been slightly slanderous, but it was not directly at any particular dealer. It is standard parlance for dealer on another car based forum I frequent.

It rhymes with dealer and starts with S.

(Test...)

Indeed, its pretty common to refer to factory ***********s that way as a kind of long running joke against the prices they charge.

(end test - OK, its done automatically in the forum software for some reason...)

Nope. No windows open.

I emailed the pictures to the service manager of the store I bought it from. He's got a new one on order and will notify me when its in.

Literally exact same issue on my passenger door panel. Looks exactly like yours

Car is actually in the dealer now getting the whole door panel replaced, they should do the same for you

Did either dealership advise why this occurred or what may have caused this to happen?

Yup. I sent the pictures to the dealer and they have one ordered. I'll bring it in for replacement when it comes in. No point in keeping the car off the road.

Mine didn't. Again..it just looks like a poor glue job.

I know this is an old thread, however I'm looking at a 2018 F Type with 19K and I noticed that exact white line on both doors above the seam. Its out of warranty, I don't think the dealer will replace on a used car w/o factory warranty. Doesn't feel bubbly just discolored.. has everyone just replaced or has anyone tried some other fix? Is there anything for this year I should be worried about? v6 ...otherwise in excellent shape.

A good non-silicone leather conditioner should solve the issue of a stain.

Thank you...I may just bring some to the dealership and quietly test before I buy!
