Default Lemon 2016 F-type R

Well, I have had my 2016 F-type R since July 11th. But it has returned to the dealership 5 times, and a total of 37 days for an unfixable issue. Jaguar sent their field tech out on the 24th of August. On the 29th of August, he proclaimed that the issue was the adhesive popping between the body panels, and it would need extensive repairs and that he was done. Since then, nothing. The dealer claims Jag will buy the car back. Jaguar CRC has no updates to this day with a resolution. As of Tuesday next week, the car has been sitting, disassembled in the service department for 3 weeks. I have attached some photos of the condition of my brand new car.

I still have payments to make, yet no one seems to care. The service from Jaguar Orlando, and CRC is painful, to say the least. Anyway to speed up the CRC to replace or buy back this lemon?

Thanks to everyone for reading and helping with this. It is a really frustrating situation to be in, and I hope that nobody else has to go thru this.

What is the problem you were having? What does adhesive "popping" mean?

Wow, sorry to hear that. I'm also curious about the symptoms that led you to take it in originally. Not an expert, but I believe Lemon Law/Arbitration processes and administration vary by state. Getting your local state agency involved could help speed things up.

The car makes a clicking noise at the top of both "B" pillars, and a popping sound from the console. The tech says that all the panels would need to be seperated and have new adhesive installed. I am trying to work with Jaguar CRC to avoid lemon law, but they sure are slow. Going on 2 months with this car, and I have only had it in my garage for 13 days. This problem started the day I took delivery

Time for a new car. Give the dealer a finite time (1-3 weeks) to replace the car. Then contact a lemon law attorney. In most cases the manufacturer is obligated to pay their fees in addition to reimbursing all of your out of pocket payments.

Hopefully Jaguar will CRC will have a solution within the next week. This is just frustrating paying for a car for almost 2 months and not having it.

I used the lemon law. In my case, jag USA was unresponsive till I used those magic words. They were friendly after though.
You should get all your money back, so I wouldn't worry about the payments. You could do what others recommended, call them up, give them a deadline, and mention that you want to avoid the lemon law.

WRONG: However, that's morally wrong in my opinion. You should use the lemon law to protect the person the dealer will try to dump the car upon. My 2 pence.

Thanks! I am giving them to next Wed to contact me with a solution. After that, the lemon law will be envoked. I already told my rep from CRC that I would initiate the lemon law if I am not pleased with the outcome. I asked them to either replace the car, or refund all my money. And since I traded a car, I want my $7k sales tax back as well.

Jaguar's customer service is terrible, don't expect much without a lawyer IMO.

If you involve a lawyer it will take 3 times as long. I can promise you that having gone thru the process so many times.

Hopefully I can accomplish without a lawyer, but if not, I will use one.

I will update what happens in case anyone else is going thru this. If the do take too long reaching an agreeable outcome, I will have to invoke lemon law with a lawyer and that will end my interest in every owning a Jaguar again. At this point, I would be perfectly content with a replacement car.

Multiple points of failure in vehicle assembly seems strange. Same person/robot?

Person/robot having a bad day; argument with wife?

I understand the never doing business with Jag ever again part. Companies/manufacturers don't realize that if so screw someone over they will never come back. I was a life long customer of Les Schwab and then one day they tried to screw me over and were rude to boot.
Therefore I'd pay 2x somewhere else than ever go back to there ever again.

Jag has a horrible rep generally speaking to this day. I can't tell you how many people have made negative comments about quality when the name Jaguar comes up.

It's really sad that thier customer service is so poor as they do make some compelling cars. They need to up thier customer service level to equal the new warranties or else they will continue to loose customers. This is my 2nd, and depending on the outcome of this, and maybe my last Jag.

In my case or yours? Did or do you have any issues with your F-type?
