I love the grille actually and the LC500 was on my short list of cars. I say you should go for it if you like the looks.

As a whole driver's package though, I still say F-Type.

Toyota started out as some kind of Loom Company, the Grille is supposed to represent a Cotton Bobbin.

I saw a 500 in real life at a local Cars and Coffee a couple of months ago, I was impressed.

The interior is not as disjointed. At starting price of 92k, wouldn't even think anyone would take it over f type R regardless.

I've driven an RC-F and GS-F and feel the GS-F is a possible contender for the eventual replacement of my XFR. Lexus is really trying to get sportier with the F line.

I wish Lexus would open up the engine management so tuners could develop a supercharger for the GS-F.

The LC is a direct competitor not to F-Type but to another GT, the XKR. So you guys are all comparing apple with orange.

The LC looks good in a weird way; the XK looks good in a classy way.

The LC has a SUPER impressive interior as one would expect. They say it isn't nearly as fast as the v8 F-Types but was designed more as a touring car (like an Aston or similar).

RR Racing makes a supercharger for the rcf/gsf.

The Japanese transformer/origami styling has just never appealed to me.

I had an opportunity to test drive the LC500 at Monterey Car Week 2017. It is nice inside and allot of tech. More of a cruiser. I feel the LC500 is a step down from the F-Type and the F-Type is much better looking and better performance.

Thanks. Good to know. Will have to wait for more feedback to see how it works long term.

I had an RC-F for 2 years, than sold it and bought a '17 F-type AWD. I absolutely loved the RC-F, and at first, liked the Jag F. After having it now for 8 months, I think I might like it better than the RC-F.

I was surprised that the Jag had a smoother ride than the Lexus, and seemed quieter (road noise).

I do think that the Lex tranny was a bit "smarter" than the Jag's, a bit better at finding and being in the best (for me) gear.

Both fine cars. I wouldn't go back to the Lexus.

I can't abide the Lexus-standard grill, and my sister recently bought used rather than new to avoid it. But to each their own, and they do sell a bunch of them.

My 88yr. old neighbor traded in her Maserati in for a LC500 and loves it. What does that say? Looks like Darth Vader incognito?
I had one of the first RX 350s in the area. It was great, and then Lexus just seemed to stop developing anything new except sheet metal. Infotainment center on LC 500 is tiny, the rest of the interior seems to be out of the parts bin from all the other cars on the floor. My neighbor loves hers, but........

I think if you are talking about a supreme road cruiser grand tourer that will wrap you in cocooned comfort, and as much as I love the XK/F-Type, there's few that can rival the Mercedes CL550 / S-Class Coupe in the sub-100k CPO market. Note we're not talking about reliability or looks, just pure comfort and luxury for those long road trips.

Below are some CL/S-Coupe features not found on Lexus or Jag (correct me if I'm wrong) --
* Blind spot monitoring
* Infrared Night View Assist
* Active Curve Tilting
* Semi-autonomous driving
(many of which have been around for years!)

My f type has blind spot detection and cornering headlights. What is the autonomous driving?

The only car I have seen that I believe is nicer LOOKING than the F-Type believe it or not is a Mazda. The Vision is very probable for the 2020-21 model year.

My friend owns a large Mazda dealer so I have an MSRP lock on one when the time comes.

I like the new Aston Martin DB11. With a little work on the available trims you can get a very unique car. I like the idea it now has a lighter AMG V8 and soon the roadster(VOLANTE) , which has managed to keep the look. I've played online and my choice came out to $250k in 12 coupe form!

Old thread I know, but I rode in an LC 500 yesterday and I must say it was nice. Not brash, loud or as fast as the Ftype R, but more of a luxurious cruiser. For what it is, impressive. Mint examples already out there around $70k. In a year or two sub-$50k used bargains might be tempting. Depreciation is similar to the F-Type. First two years are the sledgehammer, the remaining years are tolerable.

You should compare LC500 with X150, both comfortable Grand Tourers. Good XKR's can be had for sub-$20k now.

F-Type is not comfortable for long trips at all.
