Default Light around fan speed not on ?

I noticed the light ring around fan is not illuminated.

Anyone have an idea how I can get this blue ring back on?

Ring around fan is not lit up?

Can't be a recent model...the photo is of the upper console area of an early 2014 model (note the circle around the P on the park button).

Probably should pop that panel out (pretty easy) and check to see if maybe the bulb is out on the back? Car is ~7 years old now (2014 from your sig), so could have just burned out? Unlikely anyone on the forum will be able to diagnose your issue by looking at a picture of the front of the panel?

Good luck

Those ring lights look good to me. I don't have them on my 2018.

There is plenty of information on removing interior panels. It's all there for a few keystrokes in the search box. You'll find your answers there.

Using plastic pry tool remove the gear stick surround and the plastic trim above the climate control unit. Then it is just a few screws and unclipping the wiring harness and it is out. Haven’t opened it so you will be the trailblazer Should be easy enough to isolate the central dial light to troubleshoot. Good luck

This Topic made me run out to the garage to check those 'knob rings' on our '14.

Nope, ours just has silver rings (no lights).

Typically with most cars, the whole unit comes out and then you'd have to attempt to disassemble the unit itself. I doubt Jaguar sells individual parts within that unit, it's probably a replace all or nothing as that's what most manufacturers do... You could disassemble it and see if you can find something loose but again, I doubt you can purchase individual parts within the unit if something is broken. Could be something simple as a broken solder joint.

And the illumination will come from an LED, not a traditional bulb.

definite agree it is a led as ring is completely uniform in light intensity all the way around. What we are saying is that you have to open the climatronic unit itself to find the fault on this. Wether it is worth it depends on him much the missing light annoys you and you level of comfort in these things. You could alway take it to your local electronic repair shop and ask them to do it as it is only going to be the LED itself or as previously said the solder joint to this LED

The lighting could be part of the ambient light package?

You know I did the same thing when I read this thread. I have a '14 V8 S - and mine light up and are linked to the overall brightness control for the dash.

Really odd...my '15 F-Type S has every option, every non-conflicting option, configurable ambient lighting, everything....but I have the chrome rings, no LED rings....too bad. And I did try the rheostat for the interior lighting - no joy. I am now very interested in why some have these and some do not.

The ‘16 V6S has the lighted rings, but they look chrome if the illumination control isnt turned up most of the way.

It's possible it's a locale thing... I don't recall any specific options for it when ordering my '15.

Curse you Lance! You made me go out to the cold, dim garage and turn the lights on with the brightness all the way up.

Nope.

But who cares? The center temp indicators serve to locate them if you need to look As if, you cannot adjust by feel).
