I haven't done much to my 2016 R in some time and looking for any reasonable and noteworthy things people have done to theirs for under $500. I am contemplating the Velocity tune and pulley this year (the annual sale) since my extended warranty will be up. I saw Velocity's symposer block off plate which looked interesting but after seeing how much a pain it is to remove the unit-I passed. Is there any thing that you have done to yours for a reasonable price that you really like? I have done;
-Mina Gallery intake
-puddle lights
-led interior lights
-Llyods logo cargo mat
-valve stem caps
-ceramic coating and Xpel
-Porterfield pads with upgraded rotors
-Michelin Pilot tires
The car has just under 24k on it and I like doing something to it every now and then just to give it some love.
Hey there...I just made them. Took an OEM Badge...Took it apart...Painted the pieces the colors I wanted...Drilled out eyes. Glued in LED's and wired to the J lights.
I think the I-Pace one lights up already and may work....and some for sale on eBay HERE and AliExpress maybe sells some similar ?.. I made a few iterations and one between the seats that lights up as the Methanol spray increases
Assuming the car isnt black already, black wrapped sills slim it down and black wrapped A - C pillars give the roof a nice flattened look. I've had mine on for years and it is holding up fine, though it doesnt spend much time in the sun.

My R coupe is black, any ideas to contrast the all-black?
Have wrapped the chrome and side skirts satin black and black powdercoated and diamond turned the Gyrodynes which are nice subtle enhancements, but looking for higher contrast using bolder colors applied at the right spots. I just don’t know what these would be 🤨? Have also tried dual white racing stripes but removed as didn’t seem to mesh with the car.
I was going to suggest the green or the red from the R or S badge might be an accent but I had no idea where to put them. The pictures above answered my thoughts.
Looks great, especially love how the red is shaped on the skirts. My 16 R has the fat skirts so even more of a need to visually redefine that shape, which this pattern does well. I’ve been googling how to highlight black f types/ cars forever and never saw this. I think I will emulate this 😁
A couple questions; Where did you get the spacers and did they need to be trimmed? I thought I had read somewhere that the bolts needed to be shaved off a bit to fit the OEM wheels. Also, any noticeable difference in handling? And was the Sprint Booster worth it? Is it a noticeable difference? Thanks.
Spacers give the car a much better stance and would say the #1 'cheap' mod. With my black Gyrodynes I did need to cut off a little from the end of the bolts. I am no mechanic and with a 18v Dewalt portable grinder took just a few minutes. No difference in handling, good or bad, but the car doesn't look like it is sitting on stilts anymore.
Once you really look at the factory stance, you cannot unsee it.

Hi...
You want quality, aluminum, Hub Centric spacers. Only changed the look/stance...not change in performance or handling. I used Motorsport Tech - LINK HERE (You do have to simply grind off the non-threaded end of the lug for most wheels, but I think 1 or two wheels are deep enough to not do that. Easy to check one and see). Did an entire DIY on them, and attached it again here.
At the risk of opening up another HUGE can of worms and debate 😁...Yes, I like the Sprint Booster, and it is very noticeable. It has ~36 settings. It basically remaps the current/signal to the pedal (potentiometer) so takes out signal lag. Does it add any more horsepower...Absolutely not! But your pedal is much more responsive, and the car FEELS snappier/quicker on take-off. Again...It simply re-maps the signal and takes out any pedal "Lag" that is programmed in by the manufacturer. I can tell the difference clearly.

My experience with 12mm spacers on a stock ‘16 R coupe:
- turning radius noticeably larger
- straight line hard braking from high speeds less stable, car became darty. Both public road speed and road course speed ~130 to 50
- did not perceive improved cornering grip or stability, both public roads and road course
- looks improved visually
All experience on this forum is that the only OEM wheels which work with 15 mm or thinner spacers without having to cut/grind the wheel lugs are the Blade wheels.
