Last Month I checked my oil, It showed no oil, went to buy oil came back, car probably sat for half an hour, checked it again and it was max, checked an hour later still max, just checked last night all the way at the bottom right over the Min Line, it still said "OK" but I can't imagine 800 miles would burn that much oil, No leaking either. Car has 18200 miles on it. not abused, always warmed up properly. Should I just add oil to it tonight? or is there a bigger issue, I'm going to check again after school, car has been sitting for 8 hours and what its at. I don't really trust that Gauge, wish we just had a Dipstick.

 

Was the car on absolutely level ground? If not, all bets are off that the level shown is correct.

 

Id say maybe a few degree incline, but really not even noticeable
