Default low brake fluid level warning, but the fluid level is good~~ WHAT IS GOING ON?

I recently got a low brake fluid warning on my onboard screen of a 2003 X-Type 3.0L. just bled all brakes and topped off my brake fluid~ low fluid warning still there. i unplugged the fluid level sensor, and the warning is still there. Do I need to replace the instrument gauge? Anything will help~~ thank you!!!!

Check the sensor.
Unplugging will i think still give you low level warning because there is no level to read...

Use a multimeter to check power on the sensor, no power when level "full" , power when low.
When your e brake switch is (under center console) broken you could also get the warning light.
Since you bled all your brakes i would recheck the job you did first.

wouldn't it just be easier to get a paper clip and jump the leads and see if the light goes out?

Sure... get a paper clip (metal paper clip of course).

Disconnect the sensor

With the paper clip touch the connector ends and have a buddy see if the light goes out.

If it does then you have a sensor problem. That's how I test them at my shop... no need to get big guns out (multimeter).

Best of luck! and let us know the happy ending!

You can plug a good spade fuse into the plug, which is a better way to jump over because it won’t short out and stays in place. In my case it didn’t tell me anything because it’s just 1 of Jaguars gremlins running around switching warning lights on periodically for no reason whatsoever. It comes on after about 20 minutes goes out comes on again maybe.
