So I recently pulled the trigger on a 2015 F-Type R with only 19,000 miles. It’s beautiful & in very good shape.
One of the only imperfections I noticed are some pretty rough scrapes on the lower left black fiber glass splitter. I will attach a picture to show you the partt I’m talking about.
Luckily, it’s not on the chassis, only the black piece. Does anyone know if this piece could possibly be replaced? It looks like it is screwed on underneath so I’d assume it could be. Please let me know. Thank you!
I actually scraped and cracked the exact same splitter on my car coming out of a very steep driveway just recently. After checking the price of a new one (~$500) a body shop was recommended by a friend. I removed the splitter (you're right 4 screws hold it on, about 5 minutes work) and brought it to the b/shop. I removed the other side too so they could get a color match of the Ultra Blue. Within a few days it was repaired, repainted and back on the car (for $140).
FYI to all who own cars that came with the aero kit...those splitters are very easy to damage when faced with steep angled driveways or the like.

Yup, and people still want to lower the car…The chances are already bad enough

Although I will not speak for everybody who has lowered their car, the advantage of having it assume this posture [both aesthetically and in terms of handling] FAR outweigh any inconvenience of having to be particularly careful with driveways and such. It's like if you want to be with a very beautiful woman...there are things that must be done to accommodate. No free lunch.

LOL, well said.
Don’t mind me. I am well aware of the obsession to lower vehicles. That needs to be balanced with practicality though. I would think.
It just does not seem practical to me. This may vary to some degree based on your locale obviously. To each their own.
I am not sure that the word "practical" belongs in the same philological universe as does F-type and very beautiful woman. Both will take you to your limits, one way or another.

Take a road trip up North and experience beautiful Canadian roads. Then we’ll talk…lol

T2R12374 is available for $105 online in satin black. Paint it if necessary. That piece is never disturbed when approaching steep driveways. Only the inexpensive spoilers ($110 for all 3) below that get scraped up and can be trimmed with a knife to look good again. The damage to that piece comes from making contact with curbs or bumper blocks in parking lots.
Also the stock piece is not fibreglass it is plastic, and is held on with 4 x 10 mm hex head screws. Yes, screws not bolts, similar to self-tappers.
I removed mine so many times the screws started to get a little loose but a round or two of electrical insulation tape did the trick to get them nice and tight again.
