Default Making single gunshot/POP in Auto

playing exhaust music on the F-type is obviously everyone's favorite past time
really easy to get copious runs of machine gun fire and upshift farts

but how do you get a single large gunshot????

I have only managed to do this a few times randomly so don't know
what technique to use. I have the auto . Can someone enlighten me please . Thanks

I've got a 6MT and I still can't figure out which conditions reliably generate the pops and crackles. It seems that engine temperature affects it as I get more going downhill from home on a cold start. It's not something I've been striving for, and I didn't ask for extra snap/crackle/pop in my tune.

I really don’t think it’s fully controllable as you might wish. Not for just a single shot especially. The system has a bit of a mind of its own. Sometimes she is very vocal and some times she is not…….well she is not quiet often, lol

Thanks , won't spend too much time trying to achieve the impossible then or trying to master a unachievable f type driver skill.

It is possible by releasing gas pedal between gear change if not so much revving, on my last v6 was easier

V8

I don't know if this is common knowledge but I can produce an endless stream of pops & crackles with my V8S.
Accelerate above 4k RPMs or higher (doesn't matter if it's hard acceleration or not) let off gas, while RPM's are coming down in the 3-5k RPM range very lightly tap the throttle (has to be light enough not to engage transmission and accelerate, you won't hear the engine rev up at all if you do it right) and you'll spit out pops & crackles about 1 second later.
You can keep this going endlessly while you're in that range by tapping the pedal every couple seconds.

For the record I got this method from 3:12 in this video -

that's a machine gun, not a gunshot

So far, I've never really been able to achieve that effect, when feathering the throttle. I can concur with Mbourne, that there seems to be some randomness to it. I've not had the car from new, so it's possible that it's had the infamous crackle attenuation software installed, but it seems at it's most playful when I least require it, like passing that parked police officer.

It's capricious and a practical joker.

Ah, you don't feather the throttle, on overrun you gently tap it multiple times to keep the effect going. You need to be above 4000 rpm when you lift off.

I've noticed I often get a single loud gunshot noise in the V8 in Dynamic/Automatic Mode by accelerating and letting off the throttle right at a gear change.

It's not something you can control. Don't bother trying unless you just want to have some fun.
