Default Meridian swap on a trade ?

Currently have a 2021 P300 with a Meridian 770W Surround sound system

Looking to trade up to a 2024 P450, where nearly ALL of them have the Meridian base system.

Does anyone know if the speakers and amp can be taken out of the P300 and plugged into the 2024 system for an upgrade?
BEST !

2024s with the Meridian 770w surround sound system are out there and not too difficult to find, especially those vehicles build after October. Less energy to locate one than swapping out amp and speakers.

Well......

I'm really tight on the options, limiting availability.

Firense red or Fuji white, with the Firense red way more important, and a contrasting interior gets lots of points, too.

Don't need AWD, but my P300 is so heavily loaded with upgrades, even has the heated windshield that I can't accept a base model, or standard seats, no leather upgrades or anything like that.

So I was thinking, why not yank the amp and 2 additional speakers before I trade, then pop them into the new car.

Can't be that hard or maybe the existing speakers are also different?

Just looking for thoughts from the brain trust here on the Forum.

BEST !

So you’re looking to pull the upgraded components from your trade in? And leaving the next potential buyer with a downgraded system thinking they have the upgraded system? Don’t be a dick.

Wont work anyways thankfully anyways as the car will need to be have its CCF files modified to accept it.

Having the dealership do it would not make me a dick, would it?

I don't see anything wrong with changing out the sound systems as long as you are up-front about what you have done and everything works as designed. Perhaps the new buyer doesn't care that much about sound systems and will be happy to save a little money in the bargain. Regardless, it's your car, do what you want with it.

Why not just talk to good audio shop and let them give you a range of options? They will know what it takes to upgrade JLR systems. Also likely t get more bang for your buck there than at the dealer. And you don't have to rattle prospective buyers of the old car with a "downgraded audio" story.

Actually contacted them last year before I found the loaded P300 with the 770 watt surround system.

They were not familiar with the system, but said to bring it by for a look see.

Perhaps that's the best solution that makes more sense for everyone.

Likely the dealer will not want to mess with it anyway.

THANKS FOR THAT ADVICE, I should have thought of it myself.

BEST !

The dealer might be constrained by T&Cs to keep a vehicle stock like it came out of the factory. Seems to be the rule in the UK, at least.

I had the same problem, upgraded from my P300 to a 2023 P450 R-D and it was missing the stereo, alcantara roof, and electric trunk. They wouldn't do anything about any of it...the person at the dealership mentioned how the 2023 (and I'm guessing 2024) models had a little less options when dealerships were ordering because of the change JLR is doing and these being the last years for these cars. So I just left it alone...I mainly wanted to get the V8.

If I remember correctly (I could be wrong) the car configuration file has to be updated for the larger system to work so even if you installed the hardware the car won't recognize it. If this is not the case somebody will come along soon to correct me.

Just searched. Yup CCF needs an update:

Moving forward with the 2023 AWD, 8,500 mile choice, .vs a new 4502WD

Avoided a visit to the stereo shop as this car has the 770 watt surround system.

THANKS AGAIN TO ALL WHO HELPED HERE IN THE FORUM.

BEST !
