Default Methanol Kit

Has anyone fitted a meth kit on these cars? I have used in my last 2 cars with big results. A very good friend of mine develops the kits for GN’s, Corevettes, CTS-V’s etc. anything with a power adder and surprised I haven’t seen anything after I searched on the forum for this. It’s a relatively cheap add-on with nice performance results. He added one to the Dodge Challenger hellcat and it added more hp than the Demon had.

Maybe I’ve missed a post on this so sorry if this is duplicative.

yes, it has been done a few times on here. biggest problem with meth i believe is 700hp+- (V8) is achievable without it and the block isn't good for much more...but hopefully someone who has done it will chime in.

Sorry and I’ve been trying to research this how much psi does the supercharger push? It’s an Eaton roots correct?

Around 11.5 if memory serves. My understanding is the Meth is generally a lifespan extender, not shortener, due to the lower engine temps and cleaning benefits.

The OEM superchargers (on the V6,anyway) are pushing between 13 and 14 pounds, but with pulleys you can push them up to 20. Heat then indeed becomes the limiting factor, but you would need to address the heat before the airflow enters the combustion chamber.

In theory the 1320 (used in the V6) can reach 2.5 bar (36.2594 psi). In reality, the maximum pressure is a function of the supercharger rotational speed (manipulated with pulleys), and displacement f the engine.
The efficiency of the supercharger is based on the speed, with the 1320 rated at a maximum of 20,000rpm. Overdriving any supercharger drops the efficiency to the point where passive power losses, aerodynamic flow losses and heat will result in negative gains...It's a delicate balancing act and you want to find the correct size based on your final intake pressure and efficiency.

There are at least two threads about this and I posted on one of them the pictures for the positioning of the injectors. First of all, injecting methanol (alcohol), unlike what many think and post, is NOT like a Nitrous kit that adds power. It's a remediation system for running high compression ratios (high boost). It helps prevent pre-ignition. So, please let's stop spreading the rumor that adding methanol adds power, it DOES NOT! You can only achieve more power by jamming in the cylinder more air/fuel, and the only way to do that is more boost (or like nitrous, a more dense Oxygen air charge with more fuel).

Curious as to why you would want to do this?

To run E85 on the F-Type would involve changing many rubber components in the fuel system (not worth it)... The only reason would be to run a lot more boost, there are more cost effective ways to achieve that (H20/Meth)
