I'm happy with the additional traction from the SC2's and changing out every year. I might give the 4S a try next year?

 

I just recently replaced my stock P-Zeros with PS4s, thanks to the find recommendations of this Forum.

 

Tirerack.com list them in 245/40ZR19 here in the US(?)

Yeah, not in the UK I even 'live-chatted' with Michelin but they just said it's not available in that size (over here) yet.

I'm down to the last shreds of rubber on my Pirellis, so much so that even the vaguest hint of throttle on even a gentle bend causes the rear to step out a little, so time is of the essence!

I've ordered the slightly different size off the back of Unhingd's post anyway so normal high-speed cornering activities should soon be resumed...

 

took advantage of a local sale to grab a set of ps4s in oe sizes

will give my feedback on them vs mpss currently on the car shortly - waiting for good weather to head out

i will say though that switching from oe mpss to ps4s on my m3 competition was very noticeable, slightly better nvh and noticeably more wet weather grip

 

Prepare to be amazed at the improvement when comparing (albeit unfairly) very worn P zeros to new PS4S

 

New tyres are on but untested for now, I've been distracted by the new toy (but the Jag still holds the no.1 spot in my heart even though it's slower!)

anyhoo. I am about to be on my second set of ps4s..going to put them on the 20's this time around. The ONLY complaint I have is they only lasted 9 months ...lol...

 

Faster 0-60 than the V6S, yes (not V8), not sure about rolling in-gear speeds though (e.g., 60 to 80 etc). But certainly way quicker in real terms on any road with even a hint of a bend in it, it has the honour of being the most insane-handlng car I've owned yet.

9 months?! How many miles? Or perhaps it's more important to ask what your driving style is like

 

Thanks for all the good info here on tires. But you all seem to have something other than my base model, for which I cannot get MPSS or MPS4s. To be precise: MPSS come in the right size for the Base rear (275/40R18) and MPS4 come in the right size for the Base front (245/45R18) but not vice versa.

Given that, does anyone have suggestions to replace the original Conti Sport Contact 2s? I was never that impressed with them....

 

Can't agree.

My 0-60 time with V6S is ~ 4,2s (with shitty PZERO tires) and at the racing track is the V6S also faster than Focus RS, but the racing track it is more about driver skills than the car.

 

4.2?! Can't agree. Quickest recorded time I've since in a magazine is around 4.8s, or 4.1 for the V8 AWD. So no disrespect but can't see how you can get 4.2 from a stock V6S.

 

I had MPSS on the front of my previous XFR, and MPS4S on the back which replaced MPSS. I wouldn't worry about it, I didn't notice any difference, they are both great tyres.

 

 

I have been impressed with the improvement in traction, noise, and handling with the retirement of the original PZeros at 10.5K miles and 4.5 years. The traction in particular is much better than the PZeros ever were, even brand new. Who needs all that AWD gubbins with tires like these?

 

Hmm, think I've seen 4.4-4.5s for V6S, but couldn't tell you where.

 

Huh? My V8 AWD regularly pulls 3.3 0-60 times on crap Pzeros.

 

hehehe...see my sig for an answer to that! Really though, I think I maybe got 8k miles out of the tires. the rears were way worse than the fronts. So I am staggering new rears with fronts that are about half way done.


I haven't dyno'd since installing the spray kit so its not official, but I was hovering around 475 hp with the other mods and I am jetted for a 175 hp shot distro.'d from 2800 RPM through 6500 RPM. Simple math tells me I am probably in the 600HP+ ballpark. First gear launches are pure heaven now. I start with a 20% hit and build up progressively through the first six gears. Don't know how much the 3.0 liter can take, but so far so good

 

 

If you look at the video frame by frame and time it from when the needle starts moving rather than when the digital counter starts counting that is more like 4.5 secs. You really need proper timing equipment though because there is a lag in the digital speedo and it will be over reading anyway.

Still a good time though.
