Default Misfire issue

Hey all. Had an odd one today that I was hoping you could help point me in the right direction. I was sitting at a stoplight today and apparently accidentally bumped a paddle with my knee (it happens, I'm a little too tall for the car). When I looked down I was bouncing off the rev limiter in 2nd, couldn't have been more than 2 or 3 seconds I was there, but it happened. Pretty instantly I got a flashing CEL and it felt like I was misfiring a bit. CEL went away as I drove, but the misfire didn't. Got home, pulled the codes and I got a bunch (P0302 - cylinder 2 misfire, P0301 - cylinder 1 misfire, P0300 - Random/Multiple misfire, and P1315 Powertrain MFG Iginition or Misfire Fault 15). Looks like they are all misfire related, so indeed I did have 2 cylinders off. I started the car again and cook it quickly around the block, no misfire felt and no CEL.

2 Question:
1. Is this a normal behavior if you have it bounce off the limiter or should I be worried about damage done/Issue returning?
2. Does anyone have anymore insight on P1315, and is it directly related to the Misfire or is there more to that code?

Edit: It's a 14 V8S if that makes a difference

Thanks all!

1. Not sure, although some forum members have mentioned bouncing off the rev limiter before
2. P1315 is persistent misfire.

Have you recently had anything done to the car?

As you pretty much surmised, the misfires were caused because of the high rev's. No real damage done. I'd normally expect it to clear itself when you come out of the stratosphere, but certainly on a restart. (Be mindful downshifting with the paddles while cornering that you don't mix them up.)

hello

The head unit is superior to that of many other Japanese automobiles; it's nice, not spectacular, but robust and trustworthy in 9g and enhanced in 10.

I had this happen on the back straight at the Virginia International Raceway. I was pushing hard up against the rev limiter and thought I was already in top gear. This was on my XK, so I was actually in 5th and not 6th). When I realized I hit the limiter, it threw a check engine light and a reduced performance mode alert. When I checked the codes, it showed misfires on one bank. I cleared the codes and the car has been perfectly fine for the next 3,000 miles and nearly a year.

Again, this was on my XK, not my F-Type, but it seems like a similar experience.

BTW, I was talking to an experienced instructor (and a very good ol' Southern boy!) and told him what happened. While belly laughing, he said: "Well, it just means you were driving the s%*t out of it!"

I bounced off the limiter in my V6 S when I accidentally changed down instead of up (Dynamic and sports mode, so it did change!) but no misfire and no harm done it seems.
