Default All 8 Cylinders Misfiring!

I was getting on the freeway today, punched it to speed up, and the car started chugging. Performance was strange, it was chugging, and then hesitating. I was initially worried it was the tranny. Later, the CEL came on, and now the car is in restricted performance mode. I read the codes, and here is what its showing:

P0300 Random misfire detected
P0301 Cylinder 1 Misfire
P0302 Cylinder 2 Misfire
P0303 Cylinder 3 Misfire
P0304 Cylinder 4 Misfire
P0305 Cylinder 5 Misfire
P0306 Cylinder 6 Misfire
P0307 Cylinder 7 Misfire
P0308 Cylinder 8 Misfire
P1313 Misfire rate catalyst damage – bank 1
P1316 Misfire excess emission
P1111 System (OBD) checks complete since last memory clear

Any ideas? It seems strange that all 8 cyl are misfiring at once, all of a sudden.

Could be a weak battery / poor power/ground. Could be an air leak. Bad MAF. Lack of fuel when needed (pump, filter etc).

Beware of the cat damage - don't provoke it too much.

Freeze frame data may help guide you but chase the above too.

I just changed the air filter, so the second of these TSP's could be the fix, thanks!

Just on a wim check the oil cap. I didn't have mine on all the way once and got all cylinders misfiring. Couldn't figure out why it had suddenly started doing it then while looking around thinking I had a vacuum leak saw the cap was still loose tightened it up and they went away. Worth a look since it wont cost you anything.

Ok, checked oil cap (it was ok), took apart air cleaner tube, cleaned it, cleaned the TB, cleaned the MAF, made double sure everything was cinched down and sealed. So far so good, took a test drive tonight, and I thnk we have it fixed! Thanks everyone!
