Default To mix or to upsize (Continental SportContact 6 & 7)

Hi,

since my PZeroes are good for nothing (my car literally slides and skips sideways by couple of centimenters while doing low speed U-turns) I have change the tires ASAP.

I was about to get Michelin's P4S as almost everybody suggests, however, the most recent TyreReviews (https://www.tyrereviews.com/Article/...-Tyre-Test.htm) review made me rethink my decision so I decided to go for Continental SportContact 7. However, the problem is that Continental SportContact 7 isn't yet available in rear dimensions (295/35 R20) and the needed dimension won't be released anytime soon (according to the Continental's sales rep somewhere in 2023).

I have following options for which I'd be glad to hear opinion of other forum members:
1) fit Continental's SportContact 7 on the front and SportContact 6 on the rear
2) upsize the tires to 305/30 (rear) and 265/35 (front)
3) go for Michelin P4S

I'd personally go for the first option but I'm not sure if mixing two different tires should make the car unstable (even though they come from the same manufacturer). Second option is something I'd like to avoid for two reasons - cost and the looks.

I'd appreciate any suggestions you have.

Thanks!

I am in the same boat, my current MPS4S are nearly worn out and I will need new tyres in the next two or three months.
Like you I have read rave reviews on the Conti SportContact 7 which say it is the best tyre out there now, even better than the MPS4S, so I am tossing up between those and another set of MPS4S. However, as you say, the Contis aren't available in our rear size yet and I don't know if my current tyres will last until they become available and even more so because there are often long delays getting stock in Oz where atm there are zero Conti 7s available in any size.
Then to complicate matters more the new Michelin Pilot Sport 5 was released a few months ago and also gets rave reviews but it is not the new 5S (that S makes a yuge difference!) and accepted wisdom is that the S follows about a year after the non-S. Going by the history of tyres over the last few years it seems the Michies and the Contis leapfrog each other every time a new version is released so the new 5S if and when it ever comes out should be better again than the Conti 7.
Decisions decisions!

Don't mix brands or models.

That isn't always do-able. Our other collector car had the same issue...NO matched sets of F&R tires were available in the proper sizes or speed ratings. We ended up using A/S UHP tires in front & summer tires in the rear...until we sourced a set of larger wheels...

If you DO mix, just be careful driving until you get a feel for the change in handling characteristics.
