More blower noise
Yep, I've lost plenty of screws and bolts etc, mainly by dropping them in the engine bay, but I haven't managed to break anything yet. Although I have probably now jinxed myself so I better be real careful with the next DIY job!

I wonder if the one I dropped shortly after buying the car is there, after 5 years.
I'm telling you guys...the only way you're going to get that Hellcat sound is with open cone filters. In dynamic mode, my supercharger is so loud it turns heads and sounds like a police siren. If somebody can explain to me how to post a video clip here, I'll do it.
-Mina Gallery intake pipe
-Specter Cone Filters
-Remove engine cover
-Remove hood insulation
That's it.

Wrap the end of the extension magnet with a tack cloth or bubblegum and fish the plastic ones out.
Very few things beat the sound of a forced air engine. Not intending to hijack this thread, this attached You Tube video is one of the best I've ever watched on the "blower whine" issue. It was a made for TV add on the Dodge Demon when the car was first was released. Don't get me wrong, I owned a Challenger Hellcat prior to my new F type R and absolutely LOVE the F type....but the S/C whine of the Hellcat and Demon plays right into the senses of enthusiasts and what this thread is all about. Many of the USA owners have likely seen this video before, but thought the European folks and others may enjoy it. Turn up your speakers....
I am curious why the XE would have charcoal prefilters for the air intake. Who cares if you get a few more hydrocarbons into the engine? I can, of course, understand it for the cabin filters.
Charcoal Filter Purpose?
Hydrocarbons escaping out through the intake, while the vehicle is sitting I guess.
The recordings are not great but I think they get the point across.

This made me lol, but this is supposedly the explanation:

Almost certainly not, reading through the PCV chapter of the Workshop Manual the PCV system is integrated with the engine and there is no mention of any filter in the intake system.
So XJ8JR's videos got me wondering what the airboxes look like and how to get at them.
Just Removing the stock airbox and replacing with a cone type filter should help things, similar to XJ8JR's results.
I found these photos helpful:

Who's going to try this? Or do I have to be the pioneer? The sound in those videos is VERY compelling.

I'm having BMC filters put in tomorrow. Supposedly that is likely to make a difference - 24 hours will tell. I considered the eventuri intake but the fitted cost would be well over $3K so I thought to try the filters first which are a 10th of that.
