Post MY 2016 Fixed Rear spoiler option

Just been eyeing the 2016 booklet in anticipation of the arrival of my 2WD V8R Cab.

Notice that the coupe has an option to have a spiller fitted - Wondered if any folk have looked into this with a regard to having it fitted, and if so, I assume it replaces the active 'DRS' one fitted?

Not available in the U.S. ,maybe because of reduced fuel economy (CAFE considerations). As an option, I would think it should result in a negative price, since the wing drive and retracting mechanism could be deleted.

I think that's a bit harsh. It would be nice to see the entire side profile of the car with one on.

I think the current coupe spoiler looks like an afterthought though. Too chunky - more like an air brake. It's not "sinuous" like the rest of the cars lines.

I would seriously consider it if available in the US. I like it.

It does look like they put a bit of design into it. I would also like to see a full view, see how it flows with the rest of the coupe's lines.

I, for one, recognize that since the dawn of man - and the invention of the wheel - man has a need/desire to...for lack of a better word...tinker. One might even say, at times, "improve".

I say your rhetorical question zerphyte is exactly one I've been asking myself continually while reading through this Forum: why so much need to screw with (at least in our two opinions) perfection???

The other question I have is what the hell am I doing posting at 1:45 AM ET???

I think the only way to tell whether it is a looker or not is to see one in the flesh. The coupé is such a lovely looking beast I'm sure Jaguar would not make additions that make it less aesthetically pleasing to the eye...would they?

Still, on the plus side, I guess it should have shed some weight if the active spoiler is removed. Guess the drag is increased (low speed) though and so is the consumption a minuscule amount?
