Upon the purchase of my car I did some research looking for a Phone cradle for our F-type and quickly discovered that our options were very limited. The use of a cup holder cradle was useless. The location of the cup holders make it inconvenient to view the phone and the holder is often in ones way especially if you keep your hand on the gear selector or have a manual transmission.
I did not like the idea of using a vent clip type holder, suction cups and adhesive type holder, they in my opinion take away from the clean look. I came across the small company Knightspeed. They made a 3-D printed holder that connects to the Grab-Bar. It also offers the option of wireless charging too.The problem it's Super Expensive! The FT450 + Quick Charging System
comes out to $230.00 with shipping to the States, and if you want the metal version its $320.00! Way more than I want to spend.




Upon further research I came across this which is offered both on FleaBay and Etsy for about $32.00.

It attaches to the Grab-Bar with a Velcro strap and uses a magnetic plate to hold the phone.
The obvious problem is that it won't charge your phone and you will need to insert a metal plate on your phone in order for it to hold the phone. The metal plate can impede the use of wireless charging.





I then was looking at Amazon and came across this device:
TOPGO Cup Holder Phone Mount attach a wireless charger.




Just by luck the BALL JOINT of the Magnetic holder was about the same size as the TopGo unit. I then removed the magnetic plate off the first holder and attached the TopGo cradle to it and Voile.




I my case I also have the Unique Wireless CarPlay aftermarket module and mostly use CarPlay. Still there are times when I need direct visual access to my phone and now I do. Also cool is that TopGo will automatically clamp onto the phone when its placed in the cradle and do wireless charging. There is a sensor on the back of the cradle that when touched will release the clamp. I have on order a SHORT USB-C to USB-C cable to tidy it up. Overall I am very pleased, the only issue is that the Velcro Strap covers up a part of the ambient lighting in the triangle area and the cradle jiggles a small amount while driving because of the laxity in the Velcro strap. For $60 or so it does the job. Hope this idea can help others.

I finally got around to cleaning up the excessive cable and now have pictures of the finish produce. Really like the feature that as soon as you place the phone in the cradle the device gently clamps hold of the phone and just touching the photo eye behind the holder releases the phone.

Wireless Charging but can run a lightening cable to the iphone. I use wireless Carplay thru the Unique Auto Car Play Module.

Place phone in cradle and phone is automatically clamped in.

Touch photo eye and the phone holder releases the phone.
