Default My thoughts on my dual pulley V8 R

Eurocharged 60.5mm supercharger pulley, eurotoys lower crank pulley.

I opened up the side vents to push air the filters.

So i just finished up my install of my dual pulley setup. I have a 2015 f type R. It now has 77k miles on it. I've had my issues with the car when I first bought it, but I've sorted everything out and now it drives amazingly.

I have replaced all 8 injectors, water pump, cooling lines, crossover tubes, motor mounts, and o2 sensors. Once I got the car up to running 100% I decided to mod it.

As far as mods, I have a full custom intake, meth injection, upper eurocharged 60.5mm supercharger pulley, lower eurotoys crank pulley and belt, 300 cell cats, and viezu tune.

I sent viezu an email about my mods and they assured me that it will run great on their thrillme setting.

I finished up installing everything today and omg. The car is a freaking monster, it's so scary and I love it. Pulls like a train all the way through. The meth keeps the temps nice and steady. It was 103 degrees here today in Texas, when I got done installing everything. And the car performed flawlessly. When it cooled off a little and ambient temps dropped to around 92 it pulled even better. If you are on the fence about doing it, I would say go for it.

The custom intake I had made is with 3.25" aluminum piping to a 4" at the intake. So it's the same size from the filters all the way up. The car ran an 11.6@123mph with just the tune. I can't wait to see what it runs now.

Tank and pump design fits perfectly in the rear compartment.

Did you get a chance to run it again with all the mods?

Yes car is still running hard and strong. Feels amazing. Next is to get it tuned on e30 or e40.

Do you plan on increasing injector size?

I don't think I will with such a small mixture of e85. Are there any upgraded injectors on the market just in case?

Is your car tuned on meth or are you just using it for cooling? How is it controlled? Is it at a certain boost level it injects? What controller and setup are you using? Also where exactly are you injecting it? I have a meth kit from my c7z sitting in my garage I may slap on my R.

Thanks!

No it's not tuned on meth, I am using it purely for cooling. I have a 7psi pressure switch. It injects at 7psi. It's just a simple hobby switch. I'm injecting a small amount at 3 places. 1 in the intake, and 2 in the lid after the charger.

Curious as to what pressure switch you used?

It's called a Hobbs switch, I can get a pic of it later.

I see your using Terrys BMS kit, that's a good kit I had it on my 335i, you spraying 100% meth? I haven't contacted Viezu about their tune but is it the same process as it would be with VAP (handheld tuner?), I have a few e85 stations around me so im very interested in e85 tunes as well, even a e30 would greatly benefit form octane boost. you did a great job on all the installs, very clean , looks great!

Curious what your new 1/4 mile trap speed would be with all the mods now. Did you get a chance to run it (or use a dragy/vbox)?

Yes I used a bms tank, the pump/tank combo was the perfect dimensions to fit in that cubby in the trunk. I'm going with a custom tune using hp tuners, and not these canned tunes you get with the available tuners.

I haven't had a chance to hit the track again. It's easily in the 10s all day. The car is ridiculously faster.

11.6 to 10s is a pretty substantial jump...

Agreed.

Maybe this should be confirmed by Vbox / drag strip ticket.

Sometimes seat of pants dyno is misleading and even if you have got significant power increase elapsed times can be limited by traction in some cases.

Dragy is the best way to go because it measures to 1/100th of a second plus graphs and verifies that slope never exceeds 1%. It also graphs G every 1/100th of a second. Once uploaded to the app, everyone can see the verified times.

Does anyone know if there are aftermarket injectors available? Or if the stock system is capable of running straight e85 with dual pulley upgrades? I know JLR pushed these things to around 800hp in testing so the factory fuel system obviously has some wiggle room, but how much lol. Also love you use of the Audi heat exchanger, I'm totally stealing that idea. I live in Oklahoma so I feel some of your texas heat lol.

I’m just trying to find a tuner that will tune for e85, Currently talking To Viezu, to see what they have.

It's certainly much less expensive than Vbox however all the specifications I have read state it uses the same 10Hz gps update rate so it's the same technology as Vbox and same accuracy (1/10 sec not 1/100th sec)
