Default MY2016 Changes.

Just a thread to list all the lesser known changes to the car for 2016 as people start getting their new cars. We all know about AWD and the manual transmission, but what else?

Looks like the flappy paddles and start button are now Silver instead of Ignis Orange, according to a recent post.

Not orange, "Ignus Orange".

The paints and dollars are for US only. We can't get Caldera Red in Canada, and the IRR and BRG are still $1600 Cdn. Warranty is still only 4 years, scheduled maintenance is only one year.

torque vectoring brakes as an option on the v6s as lhoboy mentioned

electronic steering instead of hydraulic ones

carbon fiber roof available as an option

positioning of hood vents as only changed on the awd models I think, to accommodate some changes the engine had to sit slightly higher

Hood profile on the AWD also slightly higher.

Guys,

Over and above what others have written, the following pictures how roughly what will be happening. These are applicable to the Canadian markets, but are pretty similar across the board, check with your local country dealer first.

Don't forget that the 'Gauge cluster' has been updated, as has Black Berry paint been added. And for the UK market, the flappy paddles are now silver, and the recessed plastic trim around the 'Mode' switch and gear selector are now black on the R models as opposed to Orange and Chrome respectively.
We also get the option of Homelink on MY16

I think there maybe the addition of an emergency, Red STOP button somewhere up near the interior lights, in case you break down...in a British car...surely not ;-)

Hope that helps....

Nicely done! (Personally and from what I can tell, I'm not a fan of the body-coiored rear venturi).

I agree - not quite sure what they were thinking there...?

Luckily, it's an easy fix (non-issue on dark colored cars) by painting it black

I actually like the look, but on a white car they are going to look very dirty most of the time.

I also agree. I'm not a fan of the sills either - the black ones on the V8S are OK, though I don't love them. But I find the body-colored ones screw up the beautiful lines, to my eye.

Great reference, Tel.

Is it just me, or do others see the optical illusion created by the body colored rear valence. The S looks to have a much wider rear profile than the R.

They're both S (according to the caption), but I agree, the one on the right (RWD) does indeed look wider. I even measured the images on my monitor, and they're the same width.

Agreed w.r.t the optical illusions - The V8R Cab looks as though it has more girth i.e fatter in height and the V6S 2WD looks wider.
I guess it would be relatively easy to wrap these in satin black film to appear as per the 2014 (MY15) models.

Funny, I'm opposite on that one. That was the only body colored piece I wouldn't mind having just because adds a bit more to the back. Especially keeping with the red/black combo.

Otherwise I prefer all of the black trim pieces on the front and side sills. Too bad they are a bitch to keep clean.

I think that seeing is believing and like the F-Type itself, any F-Type, MUCH better in person versus any picture. My initial thoughts and opinions, until I see the changes in person, are just that; initial thoughts and opinions and subject to change.

In Canada, we don't get scheduled maintenance.
The first service is covered - but that's it.

The warranty is 4 yrs though.
