I think you'll find you have to manually press the Start/Stop button to get this behavior (not the electric parking brake).

But good to know it does this, I always press 'P' on AT gear lever to park it once stopped - so was missing out on this little bit of automation - kewl to watch stick move to the right...

I also thought this happened at one point, and posted such. However, I quickly dispelled my magic belief - it's the Auto Start/Stop kicking in just at the same time as you unbuckle your seat belt and/or apply the parking brake. Try it without Auto Start/Stop ("ECO" mode) enabled...

Maybe we're talking about two different things?

I don't have to do anything except stop the car and hit the P on the shifter. Motor is still running and parking brake not on yet.

That said, I guess I t's not hard to kick the shifter over on the way to hit the P. It is cool they thought of doing this tho..

Wanted to add a really unexpected discovery. The F-Type is a complete sausage magnet.

I've come out of the store to see guys taking pictures, or have guys *waiting* to talk about it. I've learned a lot about Miata mods recently. Lol.. I can't count the number of times I've looked over and seen someone filming with their iPhone.

I genuinely had no idea the car would generate that much attention. I've got a buddy with a limited viper and the jag gets just as many looks as his does. Crazy.

I just figured this one out...

Twice when in ecomode and the engine off while in traffic, when I went to put my foot on the gas, nothing happened. So I squirm and then restart the car manually while cars behind me impatiently await.

Today, it happened for a third time. All three are as I am right at my destination and I'm getting ready to exit my car and then it hit me...it's my seat belt! When I remove my seat belt, the car won't restart when already off in ecomode!

Yes. That happened to me shortly after I bought the car. Took my jacket off at a stop light, and the car didn't restart.

In the convertible, if you let ECO power down the car, then the roof will stop (if it was moving), and you can no longer use SmartTop to raise/lower the roof or windows. It seems to kill power more thoroughly than just turning off the ignition.

i'll never use it, but what's the procedure for launch mode that works for you? I've never been able to make it happen. I have a V6S AWD.

The automatic high beams. Turns off and on depending on when it detects an oncoming vehicle. So useful!

It's possible the AWD doesn't have it. Should be in your manual under 'dynamic launch'.

With the car in either Drive or Sport, and Dynamic mode on...

Depress the brake with your left foot.
Press the gas pedal a bit. The dash will indicate 'Dynamic Launch.'
Hammer the gas pedal while releasing the brake.
Fun ensues.

My normal commute has a number of world class windy roads. The auto hi beam in tandem with the cornering headlamps are awesome inspiring things of beauty. It is so wonderful to watch around corners with seldom seen oncoming traffic. It adds to the joyous "flow" of rowing gears.

glass roof has a small photo etched "jaguar" in the glass on the trunk side - push the blind back all the way, and you can just see it

how much throttle is needed? can you estimate by RPM? I don't think this works on my car unless I'm being skittish about giving enough gas.

Wu-hoo, made it through all 29 pages!
Thanks everyone for the great tips! And highlighting some annoying ones... No locking gas cap?? Really, WTF were they thinking?? I've had locking caps since... 1985?
And the slamming into park if you open your door, I just experienced that one last night...
Sure looking fwd to having some fun! But not until it is broken in & I have a clear bra on it
Cheers!

Not a lot, but enough that you can feel it fighting the brakes. Wouldn't be at all surprised if the AWD doesn't have it.

AWD does have it. Watch the first minute and a bit....
All of it's worth watching though. I guess many here have seen it already.

first of all, the car is either not a 16 or not a V8S. That said, post a pic of the missile. You may have the military edition.
