Default Name this sound

Okay team. I've got an odd noise coming from the backend of my 14 V6 S. Unable to get my phone to record, so I'm throwing out a description in the hopes it's happened to someone here.

The sound comes and goes - both during deceleration and acceleration. Seems to go away if I touch my brakes or put the peddle down hard. The sound reminds me of a modern diesel engine - has that whine to it. Mostly appears at low revs (although maybe just downed out by loud engine at high revs). Like coming into town and you start to slow down, there it is. Doesn't matter if exhaust is on obnoxious mode or regular.

Any suggestions would be welcome. I cannot visually see anything off or loose.

Thanks Cambo for the idea. A google search makes it sound like this might be it. I’m not a mechanic....but from what I read, it’s not an urgent fix - nothing is broken, just a vibration apparently? Any additional thoughts on the urgency? Thanks!

Try pulling fuse F43 in the passenger floor and let us know if that resolves the issue.

+1 to all. My active exhaust vacuum pump sounds like a buzzing heat shield. It toggles on/off at around idle speeds. Wonder if you can read this document - posted it recently, and was told it wasn't readable...

There was a TSB (or something like that) that removed the vacuum pump, and ran a vacuum line back from the engine. Wish I had done this under warranty. I don't seem to have that document.

TSB for noisy vacuum pump. Looks like it’s about an hours labour and a few cable ties and piping. Looks to be a fairly inexpensive fix, which is always nice.

will try pulling the fuse first though, in case it’s something else.

can someone verify....manual says F43 should be red and 10A fuse....but in mine, in the F43 slot, it has a blue, 15A fuse. Was this updated at some point? Thanks.
