For the 2016, they wanted a couple of hundred dollars and it was tied to the VIN. I declined the offer to take my money. Not sure if there's an alternate, or if 2017 is different.
You start here for the wide screen version : in control touch pro maps
That when you have a usb connector under the central armrest, and NO fysical buttons on both sides of the screen .
Then it may be you have a free update, for that you have to login to your 'in control account' , for which you register first. You will need your VIN.
Be sure about getting the VIN correct as the maps you download will only function on that VIN number..
It can also be you don't have the USB but a SD-slot instead, that when you do have buttons on both sides. Then you can order the SD-map or buy it from a dealer I assume. Could be pricey..
Although if you have WiFi [ no idea when exactly that came about in the USA ], you might be able to install OTA with your WiFi...
Here you see what NAV system you have, that decides on which way to go to get and install a new map :

'17 models did not have the pro (widescreen) as an option so a bit odd to see your expose' for a non-applicable vehicle.

+2. The only thing I've found is: Jaguar | HERE but that only shows a 2017 update. Anybody know how to query the car about which map version is currently loaded?

..he asked for a link to download, not where to buy the preloaded SD card..
You can laugh what you want, but even the servicedesk of my dealer goes beserk from the range of options.
And we only discuss the F-Type. "In control touch" is used throughout the JLR range and hardly any works the
same way in this aspect. There are an estimated 7 ways depending on car model and exact type of infotainment..
Even worse ; if the car happened to have had a firmware update at service, it may be the same update method does not
work again on that car. They didn't work out what was the problem there. He can not update any known way sofar.
My apologies! Allow me to be more succinct... How/where do I get an upgrade for the Map Data for my Nav system on my 2017 F-Type for the United States. Is is a regular InTouch, not a Pro. Unhingd has the right idea! Thanks guys!

@jbajor.
To update Navigation Pro, first set up an account using the link provided. When logged in go to ‘Maps & Services’, download the relevant map and transfer it to your vehicle via a USB stick.
The majority of models built from 2017 receive Map Care, which provides free map updates that are available to download for the duration of the warranty period*.
If you don't have an account, you might want to create one first here make account
So if the car is from 2017, you should have some years of free maps available.
Took me a while, but it actually is located on the global website link to map update
