Need new tires on my R, any suggestions?
In my experience... drive enough performance cars... with a variety of different tires... and the one time you try some lower cost "compatible for _______" and go hard/aggressive into a turn... you'll find out why sidewall quality makes a diff. If you're just DD with an occasional "Green light (at signal) - GO!" moment... it won't be make that much diff and you'll save some $$.
I have tested the following tires on a track (not racing) on the F-Type, it was a V8R AWD on a track with a separate wet skid-pad and slalom later in the day part of the track was wet thanks to sprinklers., I will share my opinion of handling, comfort etc. Of course that part will not discuss longevity.
I have 15K mile on the original P-Zeros and they're done. In fact, I think they were pretty much done after they left the factory. This is the second set of P-Zeros I've had on two different cars and they both have/had a tremendous tendency toward tramlining. Not sure if that's common to the tire, but it's been my experience.

I think I was around 13k on mine and they were more than done. The P-Zero's are a decent all around tire. They don't do anything great, but they do a lot of things well. If you live in an area which has colder climates, they actually handle cold temperatures (not saying snow or ice, just cold temperatures) very well. I used to take my car out during winter when there was no snow/ice. After I switched to a more aggressive tire, that is no longer a possibility.
If under 200-250 WHP per drive wheel you can get away with a good all-season tire like the 4S.
Toyo R888R is the tire of choice if you have more than 250 HP to a wheel or you're going to smoke a performance street tire when you squeeze the pedal a little. R888R's result in a 0.3 to 0.5 second improvement in 0-60 when traction limited.
Wet performance will suffer so do use the snow/rain mode we all forget about. If you share the car it might be best to stick with the all season 4S.

In Florida, sure! Not in climates where temperatures are not that moderate for most of year.
My Ftype 'R' is 2014 with 11k miles, needless to say i do around 1000 miles a year mainly in the summer. I have some wear on the front tyres which i am now looking to replace.
Front : 255 / 35 ZR20 (97Y)
Rear : 295 / 30 ZR20 (101Y)
Do you think its best i get what you mentioned above, a little wider i am worried they will not fit the rims but reading through this thread it seems they will, but i want to be sure before i purchase.
This forum has been invaluable being a first time jag owner so i appreciate the responses.

If spotnag is going wider for the looks, the wheels are sized within spec for the 265s and 305s. Starting with the 265s up front and waiting to do the 305s until later will cause no issue on the 2014 V8 since it is RWD. The Michelin PS4 is a superior all-around tire for wet, dry, and cooler conditions( >40 degF) and has a good treadlife. If spotnag is looking to maximize track performance there are 1 or 2 other choices that would surpass the dry performance of the Michelin.
This is mainly for driving on standard roads with the possibility of a track day maybe once or twice a year. So if i am buying new tyres i would prefer to go for ones that would suit both, although i dont think i need to go all out for track tyes as i'm relatively novice.
Any suggestions on places to buy?

Something else I have noticed, is the ability of Michelins to sit for long periods without developing flat spots. Many of my past cars sat for long periods due to various other time commitments and many other brands seemed prone to flat spotting, especially Goodyear Eagle F1's.
The Michelins never seemed to be as affected.
"Im surprised no one has brought up road noise yet. The PS4 are a VERY quiet tire, a must have for sports cars without a lot of sound deadening."
I'm not so sure about that now. I used to think they were fairly quiet but not any longer.
Just went for a 300 km round trip along the Freeway cruising at speeds of 90 km/h to 120 km/h and gawd the PS4S were noisy. They are around half worn (except the front left which is barely worn at all) and most of the journey was on notoriously noisy "coarse chip" bitumen not the much quieter stone mastic asphalt, but they were LOUD!
By far the loudest tyres I have ever driven on and much louder than they were when new. And yes the pressures are spot on 36 PSI all around.

I reside in Hertfordshire, South East. I have a couple of standard places near me but dont mind ordering online to have them fit locally.
I would be happy to give the PS4s ago and get some experience with them before trying a more performance alternative.

I’ve always replaced tires on all my cars with quite a bit of tread life remaining, because they generally get noisier, and maybe more sensitive to tramlining, etc. PZeros were the same - louder and didn’t feel as good after using somewhat more than 1/2 their thread.
Perhaps I should see if anyone nearby wants used PS4S when I likely change them this fall.

I agree with many of the posts above: today's tires generate noise as the rubber gets old from age and heat-cycles. Happens on many brands of cars, even those without alignment settings that are optimized for handling and grip.
