Default New 2018 F-Type Owner Questions

Don’t mean to plow old ground here, but I had a couple of questions:

Not sure I understand how to use the AHBA feature? What is “dipped beam” mode or setting?

Can you access your entire iPhone music library without having to connect the phone to the car via a USB cord? If so, how? Can you transfer that library to the car’s hard drive/media storage library? If so, how?

What’s the “passive entry push button start”?

Any tips for general break in (I have put 100 miles on it to date, and it had 46 when I picked it up (most of those put on by me during the test drive!)?

Anything else I should know as a new F-Type owner?

Thanks for all of the help. Love this forum already.

Activate AHB in the settings menu, set the light setting to auto on the turn signal stalk, and never think about the light switches ever again. Will automatically turn lights on when it’s dark or raining and will automatically turn on the high beams if there are no cars ahead of you and the car is moving faster than 25mph.

No cable needed to access the music library or telephone through the entertainment system, but titles will not be available on the center display. Just sync the Bluetooth.

Not enough memory in the car to handle more than a very limited number of tracks.

Follow the instructions in your owner’s manual for break-in.

Thank you. I checked my Vehicle Settings off the Menu buttons on the steering wheel, but did not see an AHBA option to select.

Does this feature not come standard on the 2018 F-Type?

In 2016, you had to have acquired the Convenience Package option with the car. Press the menu button, scroll up to Vehicle Settings [press Menu], scroll down to Convenience Features (if available)[press Menu], Automatic High Beam is at the bottom of the list.

I came from a 2016 V6S, but have found a few things here that have helped...

This is helpful. Thank you. It’s strange though. Although the owners manual makes it sound as though AHBA is standard, I have no reference to it in the Vehicle Settings menu. So perhaps it is not standard on the F-Type or it cannot be disabled any longer and is just permanent. My owners manual does make reference to disabling it through the Instrument Panel Menu though as also reflected in the above link. Strange.

Actually I just checked the brochure for the 2019 FT and it does appear that AHBA is in fact an option, so obviously I don’t have that option.

As I was in the process of finding/buying my 2018 I looked through several online sources (including link I shared) - I subsequently found out that there were some features added mid-year (2018.5) that my car doesn’t have, like lane keep hassling and traffic sign recognition (you can tell I’m heartbroken)

If I can't stay in my lane or read a traffic sign, it's time to hang up my key fob. These driving aids are getting ridiculous.

Welcome to the party.

You will I’ll find the F-T a learning experience. Don’t let yourself get frustrated

Relative to Un’s comment. If you drive multiple cars you get used to the little conveniences, like memory seats that recognize your key. I believe that the driver assist functions do make for a safer driving experience.

Resurrecting a two-year old thread with a question: My '18 Base V6 does not have ABHA near as I can tell because I have no options to activate it in the Vehicle Settings screen. However, in the Vehicle Information Screen, the last option is ABHA Sensitivity Settings (where I can choose Normal or Test). Why would I have that in the software if I didn't have the option?
