@Cleantex
Then I am near to you, at leat on the -same- continent ! I did some 'topspeed' attempts. First one after the 'running in' [ some say its non-sense, but we intend to keep the car, better be safe] of 5000 km.
I did not change the oil as its not included in the " 3+3+3" offer they had in 2018. If you buy a '2018' car it could be you still get the first 3yrs of maintenance included !

As far as I know, I am the only one who did try the topspeed. Last attempt on the "31" north of Lingen. But we had to aborth 4 times due to dense traffic [ meaning : slow cars catching up with trucks who
could possibly attempt to overtake and we could crash into them if they did not look..] ].

Maybe you can have a try once you car is run in ?

Can you please write in your signature the type of car [ engine and model], and also the rough location ? Then other members can ask you to join them on a tour and stuff.

Here you can put a marker ; do not put it on your actual adress, but somewhere not too far [ 15km or so]..

MAP : https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/f...p-link-164183/

I have the 'seat pack 2' with the automated entry/lift of the steering wheel, but I still wrestle since my legs would make a storch envious..

This is in my 2016 and 2019 FWIW.
And.... My 2019 has the flat bottom steering wheel. Am I to understand that is now gone as an option??

Jaguar has no good car ideas. We just want a good steering wheel that doesn't whiff outta the window when we driving.

That’s a 2016 V6U (for Unhingd). It’s actually a V6S with a Project 7 grille and grille surround. A few of us on this forum have done this conversion.

A bit more official info here, including which engines are available in which markets: https://media.jaguar.com/news/2019/1...aguar-f-type-0
Biggest news for you mob in North America - you still get the V6 (380PS version only) but you DON'T get the lo-po 450 PS V8, per this blurb in the linked page:
"The new global engine line-up is market-dependant:
  • UK, EU and select Overseas markets: 300PS four-cylinder, 450PS V8, 575PS V8
  • North America: 300PS four-cylinder, 380PS V6, 575PS V8
  • China: 300PS four-cylinder, 380PS V6
  • Rest-of-world: 300PS four-cylinder, 380PS V6, 575PS V8"
So my brilliant idea of saving a bundle by buying the lo-po V8 then spending a pittance on tuning it is a non-starter, at least for you mob.
Maybe the second ever F-Type advantage us Aussies have ever had over you Yanks (and I forget what the first advantage was)!

Ah ha! Now we are talking. So this conversion is a commercially available kit?

I think update is ok, but will reserve final judgement till I actually see it. Not sure it is enough to get me to trade but you never know, but I like what is surely an expensive new interior. Not sure I care about digital dash one way or another. Not everyone liked the last minor update but I don't even notice it now, the same will probably happen again. I think the straight six with more torque is a more significant reason to get a new one, but I wonder how that is going to work with out a major redesign. Additionally the future includes some type of hybrid on every Jag!

It’s a bit more clandestine than a simple aftermarket kit, though a poor quality aftermarket unit is available from Paramount (Predator Grille). The grille and surround that most have here have installed are OEM Project 7 parts that are acquired using a secret decoder ring. If the car has parking sensors upfront, one of our forum members has mounting adaptors printed up to insert the sensors directly into the P7 grille.

There were already led headlights before in the F-Type, in technologie nothing new. The rest is a story of taste, like Shakespeare wrote "there's lid for every pot"
But for me the design is not standing on 2 feet. Look Huracan, what is too much toycar for me. But the headlights design is fluent with the car body. Other 2021
cars as Porsche Taycan also have a more consistent design.

Enough said! I think the F-Type should be a stand out rather than forced to fit the rest of the family!

You have to remember that The current look is penned of the E-type and it’s heritage and look, body and especially the lights, the new addition goes away from that IMO and falls in the category for current jag models the XE for example, the front of the new face lift model looks like the XE, just wider and lower same design front lights etc, on the road face on meeting it the look would be similar. If you met the new model on the road head on I think you could just as easily mistake it for an XE, For me the old look is the best and stays true to its heritage, and most of all looks like a jag. Don’t think I would swap if I had the chance, to mainstream I think, pull up some pics of the current XE and the face lift is just a wider flatter version of the front, my picture answers all the questions I think

I agree. I ordered my 2020 R in August. Just after seeing this new design I found out mine should arrive at Christmas. I am so glad I did not wait to order the 2021 model. For me the newer grill is fine but the headlamps steer too far away from the E-Type; they have no traditional Jag character.

Welcome bro to the last 2020 R shoppers
I had the chance to find a new in stock car early in november, and after seeing the mods on the Nürburgring photos of the slit-eye, I bought instantly.
And as I used my Touran 2017 today, I never noticed the flat Touran steering wheel that is more near in design to the 2020 F-Type as the new from 2021.

There are some technical things already in the 2020, that they announced for the 2021, as adjustable shock damping.

Nice to hear about the 2021 technical upgrades making it into late production 2020 models. I was hoping this might be the case. Mine was built in November so I suspect Jaguar was already incorporating those changes as they retool for the new model year. I'm no engineer, but it seems like getting new software and the like into as many new cars as possible would be cost effective and easier to maintain later on.
