You get the V6 but you don't get the lo-po 444 hp V8.
UK get the lo-po V8 but not the V6.
Oz gets the same as the US (V6 but no lo-po V8).
It is completely and utterly all over the shop with zero logic that I can see, especially as the US is the home of the V8 and Oz has loved V8s as well forever (think Holden vs Ford and Bathurst).

It might have something to do with they thinking Americans and Australians wouldn't be interested in a low power V8. Maybe they think the V6 will sell better than a lower power V8.

I wish they had not dropped the V6 here, if that meant they would also keep the manual. Even better if they would start offering a manual with the low power V8.

If they had a small bore, high revving V8 I'd be on to it like a fat kid on a cupcake. Add manual...

+1. And we know the current MT can handle that power. BTW, is that new lo-po V8 still an AJ-133, or a physically smaller power plant?

I can't imagine Jaguar investing in fitting a new lump in - much cheaper to detune the existing one.

I think all this is in the line to make economies, as hard time (Brexit) lies ahead. And also they want to liquidate their gasoil engine stock before the electric time. And like this motors are mostly software configurated on power, they can adapt the hp in a certain range. So may be that some engines sold outside Europe are not in line with the Euro Co2 norm. Anyway all V6 and V8 from 2020 are Euronorm 6d temp, and out of norm from 1/9/19. So they should arrive to construct the 2021 V8 in the Euronorm 6d (without temp) to make immatriculation possible in Europe. My 2020 has already a gasoil particle filter integrated, but is a temp. Hard time coming for muscle cars.

"New to the range is the 450hp V8, which is based on the supercharged 5.0-litre V8 fitted to the old car. It generates 580Nm of torque from 2,500rpm which is enough to get the car from 0-62mph in just 4.4 seconds and onto a top speed of 177mph. You can have the car either with two-wheel drive, for a more challenging drive, or with four-wheel drive which allows the car to get all its power down with minimal fuss, irrelevant of what the weather is doing. Whether you choose two or four-wheel drive, you also get an electronic rear differential which allows the car to send power to whichever tyre has the most grip and, like all F-Types, an eight-speed automatic gearbox."

The XKR had 475hp and 600Nm. The current v6S is a better car to drive as a sports car and much more responsive, but the transmission will make a lot of difference (transmission was probably the most noticeable improvement between the XKR and the F Type) and also traction is vastly improved.

Wow, if true, it's exceptionally rare for a manufacturer to go backwards on the output of an identical engine being carried foward....weird.

And supposedly the V6 S can be boosted to 450 with a pulley and chip. So effectively you have a quicker and more fun car with a 450hp V6 S manual, as the V6 is probably lighter. Or at least as fast.

Yeah I have one of those on mine, the car is wicked fast. The only difference I think though is that with the 8 you'd get a sweeter note (personally I am not as much a fan of the 5 litre note, I preferred the 4.2 but still...) and also someone recently pointed out that due to the engine running hotter, the pulley and tune cars arent suited to track days.
