Default New FType-R Owner With Fitment Question

Hello All,

I am hoping if anyone can give me info regarding wheel spacers. I am having a hard time finding the right spacer for my 2017 FType-R. Manufacturers are saying that it's too newfor them to have. Does anyone know the actual fitments or if the fitment from an older model would be be the same? Thank you so much!

B

These guys know the F-Type. Type in Model XXR if you want to see what they have online:
Wheel Adapters, Wheel Spacers, Hub Rings for your car! | Motorsport Tech Cart

Don't go wider than 15 or 17mm spacers with OEM tires or 10-12 mm if you move up to the 305s in the rear.

thank you! So I am thinking 17mm which the owner suggested. Any issues that you know of with that big of adjustment?

Unhinged - on the group buy 17mm spacer thread it was agreed that '17mm - without lowering - you can easily fit a 305 tire and 17mm spacer' .... so this is not true?

I have 17mm spacers waiting on my F-Type and plan on PSS rears. If any scraping/rubbing issues and I'll have to change my plan or be happy with 295 stock size (would rather use 305).

ok understood. I don't think i would mind the stocks right now. I just wanted to make sure that the ride does not suffer withe 17mm. Thankbyou so much for the info.

Fully compressed(which may be unlikely) even the OEM springs, 17mm spacers and 305s will rub.

This depends on your wheel's width and offset.

I'm lowered on HR springs and running 20x10.5 with a 15mm spacer and fitted 305 tires with plenty of room to spare. Im actually thinking of going to a 20mm spacer with this setup. If so, my 15mm spacers will be for sale =)

That was before I tested the limits of travel going over a curb leaving a tight driveway. If you don't plan on doing that (which is a good concept) you'll be ok. (and you won't Read it in The F'ing Manual)

HAHA - thanks! Unhinged. Yep those curbs are a bitch. I may just stick with 295s and the 17mm spacers.

Sad to hear this. Are 15mm spacers with PSS 305's on OEM wheels going to be any better?

Clearly, one good curb or pothole is going to fully compress the suspension, so lowering or not is less a mitigating or contributing factor in this equation.

Would really prefer to avoid tire rubs.

I No, I had the 15mm spacers (subsequently removed). I will be installing 10mm spacers on the rear and extended hub bolts.

So, what’s your set up now?

6mm spacers on the back. I have calculated that is the thickest spacer that can be used to ensure full strength thread contact. I am now holding off doing anythig else since I will eventually acquire some ultralight wheels with the proper offset to obviate the need for spacers.

i will add to unhingd's boundless knowledge on these, i am running 15mm on mine..fit great except when you have a new tire in the rear, your trunk is loaded full of luggage and you have two people in the jag. pretty much rubbed every bump, no damage to the tire or fender but definitely annoying and stress causing during long drives. 295s, 15mm, H&R springs.

Doh! Do the 6MM spacers even make that much of a difference to make it worth it?

I love the Maelstrom wheels. Have you found anything similar that you're eyeing?

What wheels are you running? Maelstrom?

with the 305s and the 6mm spacer, the tire face is pushed out a total of 11mm. So yes, a definite visual effect.

I’ve been looking at the Forgeline hybrid forged spokes/CF barrel (18 lbs/ea.) They have a couple variations that are close, but the price point ($15k/set) is a bit sobering.
