Default New Mod!

I've always felt that the stock steering wheel that comes on the base F Type completely ruined the steering feel. Its too skinny; and doesn't provide enough grip. Afterall it's pretty much identical if not the same to the wheel on the current XJ.

Anyways I had the flat bottomed steering wheel installed. Drove it and I feel that's the missing link I was missing to complete the steering feel of the car. Ignis orange paddles add a nice touch to my all black interior.

It's beautiful! Where did you buy that steering wheel, if I may ask? Installation easy?

Very nice upgrade! How much did the steering wheel and install cost you?

Personally (of course it's personal!) I'm a big fan of the flat-bottom steering wheel first and foremost (I'm also a huge fan of the panoramic roof) as well as the Ignis (Orange) paddle shifters and start/stop switch.

Well done WhiteTardis!

you found a heated flat bottom wheel, nice not an option anymore, only early F-Types came with it. The thicker flat bottom wheel is by far the best wheel Jaguar has. I had all of them including all variations of the Alcantara wheels. The extra pad at the 2 and 11 o'clock position are perfect for the thumb. Love the steering wheel, most comfortable of them all.

Totally agree...the FBW feels so nice in your hands, it makes the driving experience so much better.

Agreed. I wish I waited for 2016s as they came standard with the panoramic roof. I'll just have to deal with my vinyl wrapped roof.

My Base F Type came with the Climate Pack so it already had the heated steering wheel. But the flat bottomed wheel with heat is still available as an accessory. This is my first car that didn't have a sports steering wheel so its a welcome feeling.

Another wonderfully tactile item in the F-Type - one which we all have - are those rubberized rotating knobs for temperature control, never mind the "digitalized" numbers on them. LOVE THEM!

Interesting, we earlier this year tried to find the order number for the flat bottom heated wheel and it was no longer listed but I see now it is listed there ... may just have been an omission on the accessory page ...
