Default New Owner V6s

Hello Everyone, long time lurker.

New owner of an V6S and my first Jaguar. I've had many many cars in the past from GTR's to M4's, the Jag is right up there with some of the best cars that I've owned so far.

I bought my car early this month and the following modifications:

Black wheel caps and grille badge (replaced the red ones) trying to keep the black and white theme
15mm spacers fitted all round

Future mods include pulley and performance upgrade, subtle rear light tint (in a few days) maybe some lowering springs, hesitant because of the UK roads
Currently pending for a P7 grill, but I dont have a Vin at the moment..

Nice car; welcome and congrats.

PM member Unhinged on the grill, he may be able to help. I have one and can hardly wait to install it.

.....and just to prove everyone is different, I replaced my black grill badge with a red one (I have the red interior too). I may do the red wheel caps too.

Cheers,
Dave

I am keeping track of interested parties and will notify them as I come across qualifying VINs.

I don’t have PM capabilities just yet as I’ve only just joined, but if Unhinged can help me out that would be great, they’ve been quite persistent with providing Vin over the last week, my purchase is currently on hold

with regards to the F type vs GTR. First thing I noticed was that the F type is WIDE, my GTR was in the garage no problem, however the F type required more attention getting it in.

And for performance, There’s really no comparison, the GTR is a time warp machine, mine was at 600bhp stage one, downpipes and exhausts. Steering wheel feedback was precise, not too heavy and on point, jag feels quite floaty, I really need to have it in R mode because it’s not weighted enough for me at higher speeds. Interior quality jag wins by qualify, though can’t really fault much of the GTR apart from squeaks. It’s also. 2+2, and more practical. Maintenance can be quite expensive, it eats tires and oil. The amount of Grip and confidence it gives with respect, really makes you smile. It’s also DCT so the shifts are much faster, I say much faster probably a couple of tenths faster, but you really do notice it!

The F type is in another league in terms of styling, I love the way it sounds also. I love the central exhausts, most of my cars had been quad this is a nice change and these are real meaty pipes! A real feature on the rear and very unique.
The *** on this car is phenomenal, can’t stop looking at it. It’s elegant, refined GT with proper sports car capability. I love it!

Great looking car! Can you post close up pics of the wheel setup please - I'm contemplating spacers, but don't want to lower the car, so thinking of the same setup as you.. Thanks!

I will post some pics when I get time, it does have a very slight 4X4 appeal to it though doesn’t bother me too much

some references to the spacers - (looks higher than it does in real life)

I also got my rear lights tinted yesterday. they look darker than they are but its a slight tint to match like that of the newer cars.

Also debadged the Jaguar, as the J came off when washing

Did the rear lights have to be removed to be tinted, or could they be done in place? I’ve been thinking about doing that ever since picking mine up at the dealer after service and seeing it parked next to a 2018; the newer, slightly darker lights would look better with my car’s Ammonite Grey.
