Default New Year Carbon Fiber Makeover

Treated my F to some carbon fiber goodies for the New Year. Interior console, hood and wing vents and mirror caps. Going to have fun installing them now. If anyone has any tips for existing trim removal please share! I have picked up some plastic trim removal tools and masking tape in readiness

Default removal

when you remove the side vents, open the doors, makes it easier to grab them. Then just pull them off, if youre lucky they wont break the clips, I had one good one left the other broke one clip

Take before and after pics! I have been thinking about wrapping the current pieces in carbon or silver carbon fiber

I've been thinking about that on the gearshift surround. The gloss black shows every fingerprint, every bit of dust, every scuff. Something textured or matte would be much better.

Not quite getting how opening the doors will help with removing the side vents?

That's what the guy from Shadowcraft sent me when I asked about CF interior bits. Should look good!

He sent you a photo of the official Jaguar parts.

Good to know. The weave on the OEM parts don't match! The climate control weave goes a different direction than the rest. It's sloppy.

Although the press photo above was released by Jaguar themselves, it either shows a computer mock-up or a pre-release example. The actual interior parts released by Jaguar are those shown in the opening post. They are matt (no gloss CF in the car as it would present glares) and the weave is aligned. They are fitted as standard to the P7 cars so that makes it easy to find photos of them in real cars.

Note if buying them (or any aftermarket ones) - LHD and RHD vehicles have different gear selector panels and are not compatible.

The piece I have looks symmetrical - so would fit either LHD or RHD?

The difference is in the ring that the start button clips into. It should be glued into position so is not relocatable without damaging it.

I think there must be something wrong with me - carbon fiber just doesn't appeal to me ;0

Doesn't do much for me either. There's a reason why they print menus.

Interesting to note the lack of flat bottomed wheels...

Just tried it - popped out easily enough, wasn't glued in.

That's helpful to know. When I fitted mine it was definitely glued on because it was very slightly proud (less than 1 mm, but enough to catch dust so it was annoying me). I ended up dremelling it out and reusing the surround from my removed trim in it's place.

I don't think they were an option with the P7. TBH they are a bit of a gimmick with the normal F-Type - it is all for the looks - but damnit you can still pry mine from my cold dead hands.
