...to go in the direction of setting up Jag's proprietary SDD software...

Looking at just picking up a reasonably good 3rd party ODB2 code reader.

There are a ton of threads on this stuff, old and new. I figured it would be more efficient/accurate to ask what the current prevailing thinking is out there on this stuff? Is there one or two 3rd party units that are identified as being the "better ones" that work well with these F-types and other modern Jags?

I am currently leaning towards purchasing the iCarsoft LR V3.0 unit.

Any immediate thoughts and/or other suggestions?

From what I gather this particular unit does not exhibit the battery draining issue, disconnects from the ODB2 port properly, etc...

Thanks

For $150 more, I purchased the ICARSOFT CR MAX. More money, but I can use it with almost any brand car. If I sell the Jag, it doesn't become useless. I have already used it on the wife's Macan. I reset the service and oil interval reminders and used it to retract the rear electronic parking brakes for rear pad replacement.
