In the V8 everything just seems effortless... point it and go. This was mentioned in a lot of reviews and now having driven both for a period of time, I get what they were saying.

It's just "different"... it's almost as though the V6 is the purists sports car and the V8 is a taught, refined muscle car... I have never driven an "S", but assume with it's added HP and some of the dynamics of the "R" it offers a little of both worlds.

In the end it's up to the individual to figure out what's motivating their purchase decision and what they want out of the car. Either way it's great that Jaguar offers the different experiences across the model range instead of being single sighted like some other manufacturers.
I know what you are saying and sorry all to say the Porsche word, but that was my experience, the base has an MT available and was engaging to drive, you could row through a few gears in and out of corners and enjoy the experience, vs the turbo is just so quick like the R and it takes a lot of focus when you mash the pedal to the floor and bamm, your at the spot ahead you were just looking at, everything just happens so quick.

I keep going back to thinking about the S and then realize I could get a car as fast as a 911 turbo and cars 2-10 times the cost for $20k-$30k more. I guess I need to go drive them back to back.

ally got some great pics that show the nefarious and moody British racing green as it becomes different colors. I can always do better and will try. This was off the 280 near Hillsboro / San Mateo, CA. The valley is Crystal Springs Reservoir.... Stunning drives!

I did a little ninja shopping today at Trader Joe's (in, grab stuff, and get out as quickly as possible). Surprise!

I did some light hand-polishing and it's very hard to see now, but *I* know it's there.

That is awful. And my wife wonders why I park a country mile away from everyone else. But sometimes it's unavoidable...sucks, man. Sorry.

Bummer! At least it's just the rubber bumper and not the aluminum. I feel for you.

Anyone have real-life photos of the F-Type with the carbon fiber roof option? Did a search but came up empty handed.

I may be incorrect, but I don't think it's visible CF. I think the roof is just CF and then painted to match the rest of the vehicle body.

When you build it on the configurator, it is black, and looks like cf. But, that's just an artist rendering. I've never seen any pictures.

I think that you are right - it is "bare" CF with a protective coat, something like clear-coat? As a $3200 option, it is unlikely that any dealer would order it for their lot; so it would have to be a custom order. I have yet to see a real photo. I can't be the only wacko who wants one...so where are they? I have a F-Type Coupe penciled in on my dance card for 2017, so I am a bit concerned that the option will disappear due to lack of exercise.

Here you go SCMike.

I saw this on the Car Gurus website. - CarGurus

It doesn't go too well with Caldera Red but, the CF top does have a gloss finish like all of the other CF accessories (except for the CF console pieces which are flat to reduce glare.)

Ooooh, so they do exist. Thanks for the photo! I'm contemplating a BRG with the CF roof.

I have seen carbon fiber pieces on White, Firesand, Storm Grey, Italian Racing Red and Black. They all look good.

I have seen the CF wheels with BRG and CF pieces on the BRG Project 7... they also looked good. I would assume that the roof would also pair nice with the darker color.
