I think JLR have always built the engine, albeit at the Ford plant at Bridgend in their own section. I believe they switched production to the Midlands around 2020, but am open to correction on that.

I had a look under the car on the passenger side and the black cross brace has oil all over it. I found a Youtube video that shows the timing cover plug can leak and it looks like it would fall right down to that spot. Easy fix if that's it!

Yep.
The AJ133 and AJ126 were initially built in the Ford Bridgend plant (AJ133 from early 2009 and AJ126 from 2012) up until Dec 2020 when the deal with Ford expired and JLR moved the engine production to their new multi-billion $ engine plant outside Wolverhampton.
Hard to tell these days if those engines are still being made there if at all but AFAICT the AJ133 is still being built for some Range Rover variants but the AJ126 is dead.

My last oil change,12 years and 33000 miles, needed a new oil pan gasket. I guess not pad for living in the desert. Tomorrow 3rd day of 100!

That’s some bad luck for sure for a 2024. Let us know how that works out.

I’ll have to be a bit more vigilant and check closer next time I have the car on the lift. Nothing on the floor in my garage that I’ve ever seen.
