Default Opticoat application done to my car

First the car is washed, then clayed. After claying, the guy did a 1 step paint correction on the vehicle. Then primed the vehicle with a primer that comes with the opticoat. After this process, the guy buffs off the primer and applied the opticoat pro. He then buffs off any high spots from the application with a new microfiber towel. Then applied opticoat pro plus after an hour or so. And went around buffing off any high spots for a high gloss shine.
Here are a few photos.

Looks very glossy/wet.

Do you have any pre-application shots as a comparison?

No, pre photos. It was shiny but no where near the shine it has now. I'm happy with the result.

I've never seen a spoiler like that on the F-type. It looks better than the built in one. Your spoiler even looks like it matches the lines of the car.

Thank you for the compliment. Yes, it's a GT SPOILER specifically designed from scratch to compliment and match the curve lines of the cars rear end. I was at my local Jag dealer today. So many service techs and salesmen were looking over the car. They like my spoiler more than the SVR spoiler. My spoiler is made in Germany. Quality part.
Thanks.

That looks FABULOUS!!!! I just did my F-type with a coat of 22PLE glass coat after paint correction... I will never NOT coat a new car again. It is unreal what it does and how easy it is to maintain! Time will tell how long it last. I use 'Bead Maker' with washes to help maintain

Default I agree ...

It's as if liquid glass was put on the paint. I have a 7 year warrenty from OPTICOAT. The car gets registered with Opticoat.
PS. You car looks great. Love the vibrant blue color.

Default Time and cost ....

It took my detailer 7 hours with his assistant to do the car.
The cost was $1250.00
I'm located in Northern Jersey, close to Manhattan, so pricing might be a little bit higher.

I really don't know much about coating how is it different from applying a normal wax? Is it really worth the money and does it last long!

It's my understanding that it's a ceramic based acrylic coating which forms a very hard glass like shell over the paint.

Can you guys do me a favor and ask your respective dealers a question unless someone knows the answer. I got the Gold Package (Ceramic Pro) done on my car a few months ago from LI Detailers on Long Island. I just noticed that the car has a few swirl marks here and there and when I called them to ask them about it, I was told that the coating PREVENTS the swirl marks and scratches. They also stated that is there are any marks or scratches, they are on the Ceramic Pro coat and not on the vehicle paint. The water repels on the car perfectly but I was just wondering about this small detail.

The person who did my car did a paint correction first and dealt with all the swirl marks before the Opticoat application. If your dealer didn't do that they are probably there to stay. I don't know why you would have swirl marks on the opticoat unless whose ever washing your car is not paying attention.

None of these coatings are impervious to swirl marks, regardless of what you might hear. They do reduce them, however.

Paint correction should be done before opticoat is applied. Your car shouldn't have any swirls at that point if the paint was properly corrected. It is possible to get swirls after If car isn't taken when washing the car. I use the two bucket method to wash my car to reduce the chance of me damaging the surface of the car. Dont take the car through automatic wash machines. Those things are bad on your car.

When a 'new' car is looked at with a detailers light, it is truly amazing how many swirls and blemishes are in the paint as delivered both a a result of handling through delivery as well as factory buffs. The car needs to have the paint corrected before the application of any one of the ceramic (or glass) coats as they do not fill the swirls like wax does. the coat seals the pours (prevents contaminants from sticking) in the paint and provides a hydrophobic property to the paint as well as a hard shell. If yo noticed the swirls immediately post application, I would take it back and have them fix it. If not, all that is mentioned above holds true. It is not perfect and still requires care. I use 'bead maker' (Bead Maker Paint Protectant) after a two bucket wash to help maintain the coat. It is REALLY awesome!

With the posts here. You can't simply slap on the polymer coat onto the cars paint. It must be fully prepped.
My cars paint had a glass like shine. Very happy with the outcome.

I had mine done with Ceramic Pro. Looks very nice. That color pops. Mine is Ammonite grey. They did glass, interior, paint and wheels. Lifetime guarantee.
