Thanks!

Well...Thanks to the help of madmax1911, I was able to skip the 5-6 week wait for the sensor holders!!... And now have my P7 Grille installed and working perfectly. Unfortunately...I broke a small tab and spent way more time trying to fix it, or would have been done wayyyy sooner. I am very happy with the look though and will likely create a thread and put all of the info in one PDF in a DIY style as I have done for other popular mods/topics?

I ended up spraying behind the grille"Satin" black as opposed to Flat, and feel in blends well/better? I also was not loving all of the holes/business on that bumper bar, so used a 1/8 inch by 3-inch piece of white vinyl/PVC and wrapped it with satin black and used the same holes and pins as the large styrofoam piece and it cleaned it up. I had noticed in OEM Project 7 cars...the grilles did have a cover on that bar. I also used some 470-ohm resistors and LED bulbs and made some nice bright white eyes for my badge, also painted Black and White. I fiddled around and took all the wrapping off of the sensor wires and ended up using shrink-wrap and black zip ties, as I was not sure about the glue holding. Used a couple of spots of hot glue to secure sensors. Also sanded and wrapped gloss black for the holders to match the grille material...and used various connectors so the grille can be removed and the sensors can stay in place. Also realized (at least on mine), I had to trim the bumper cover where the bar used to reside as it prevented the trim /surround from going in flush (also how I broke a clip ) Other than the clip snapping...not too bad and happy with the results.

Velocity AP 200 CELL Cats and Downpipes will be here next week...so on to the next project Asked my wife to buy them for me for Christmas...haha

Pics below.

Removed wrapping and re-ran sensor wiring.

This part blocked trim ring

Trimmed to fit with Dremel

Satin wrapped PVC panel to cover bar and wrapped sensor holders.

LEDs for eyes

Eye lights

Finished with Jaguar LED eyes for fun.

Now I will have to get to work on my 9-month-old granddaughter's car so they match again!

Hey DC, can you provide more photos/detail on the pvc portion that you wrapped. Seems like most people painted the bar and then reinstalled. I was also planning satin black for the bar but of course would prefer to pursue a cleaner looking option, thanks.

Awesome job DC 👍
I forgot about having to trim the the opening but didn’t have to trim as much as you did, just clipped off two 90 degrees corners to 45 degree angles.
Now you have me thinking of wrapping my body colored surround gloss black to make the grille opening look larger......hmmm.

My picture taking slowed down after getting frustrated with the clip breaking, but here are some photos of the panel I made and the material etc.. Use the old foam piece as a template, and on the ends, I just extended the wrap around the end of the bumper bar to told it snug...The bumper cover then keeps it in place when re-installed.

Thank you! And thanks again for the help! Very much appreciated. Yeah...On the trimming...Many times I go big! Sometimes too big...but figured I wanted to be sure it cleared.

Yours looks awesome as is but easy to wrap that puppy in black if you want to try it! I like that bigger opening appearance, which is why I chose not to go White...But to each his/her own...No judgment here.

Take care!

Ok gotcha - I see you used the pvc as an “insert” under the top and bottom rolled areas of the bar. I’ll have to check our where I can source the material, I like that idea. Thanks,

The AWD nose piece must be different than that on the RWD. There was no tab trimming required on my car.

Could be...Mine is a different year 2017 vs 2016, different model R vs Base/S, different drive AWD vs RWD, different transmission 8Spd ZF Auto vs 6Spd Manual, and different engine V8 vs V6....so lots of possibilities why they may be different? The nose could be different part #'s.

The P7 was a V8, so that wouldn’t be the differentiator. The AWD bonnet is definitely different than the RWD bonnet. It would be reasonable to suspect that the nosepiece is different as well.

Has anyone in the UK managed to find a supplier? Britcar say they are out of stock and are obsolete now

That’s the Project 7 grille and surround.

As of this morning, I'm giving up on a P7 bumper bar. Sources in both US and Britain tell me it's either "no longer available" or "on backorder from Jaguar with no ETA." The British source also reported that a full European dealer search came up with nothing in stock. That leaves three options: do nothing and no longer have use of a towing eye, modify a standard bumper bar to relocate the mount, or notch the surround for access.

I've got time to think about it.

I have put off my installation for this very reason - cant find anywhere to get it - I have considered having the block moved within the factory bar to the specs from madmax. I found a welder and have the measurements so I may go that route although the weather is getting better so I will be driving it a bit and likely scheduling a service so I will get started after that. Usually I do mods like the day parts arrive, but I was really hoping to source that bar.
