Default Performance Upgrades?

Hey everyone

I currently own a 2014 Jaguar F type V6S and am looking into the available options for increasing performance such as Horsepower, Torque etc. I was wondering if anyone could recommend good aftermarket cold air intakes, air filters, exhaust systems, turbos, and any other good upgrades to help with performance. Feel free to give any insight on what you believe is the best route in increasing the performance. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I also have the company ECU tuning, installing new supercharger pulleys and doing tuning and mapping later this month after going over statistics with them as well as guarantees and forum information they listed on previous threads.

Once again any help is greatly appreciated thank you so much!

What is your goal with the car? Since the list you provided includes turbos; i'm not really sure if modifying cars is new for you, or if you're really looking to go extreme.

Given the OEM configuration and the supercharging, messing with intake or exhaust will not result in significant performance enhancement. The best that can be realized is aural (bigger exhaust note or enhanced SC whine. Without a massive engine build, the best performance enhancement is achieved from an oversized crank pulley and a tune. For short spurts you can add methanol or nitrous injection, but that’s really not well suited for sustained driving. To ensure that you get what you pay for, make certain to do before and after dyno runs for the pulley & Tune. On the V6 with pulley and tune, you should get close to 450 hp and 425 lb-ft.

I just did the upper supercharger pulley and ported the charger. Haven't had a chance to get it on the dyno yet but it for sure feels like a new animal.

Who did you have port the blower & also is it any louder? When I had my old Roots blower ported on my XKR it sounded like a fighter jet it was so loud.

For the benefit of Bray , an upper pulley is of minimal benefit on the V6 as the OEM upper pulley is about as small (62mm) as will fit on the SC. The smallest upper pulley is about 60.5mm (2.4% reduction). The OEM pulley on the V8 is 66mm, so a reduction pulley will indeed net a 9.2% SC speed gain on that application.

Unhingd is a bank of knowledge and helped me with my pulley stuff so I'd listen to him for sure.

Did you use a crank pulley in your application? I'm very interested in this mod, but I definitely do not want to shave the shaft on the blower to make a pulley fit there. My car is a lease, so I have to be careful. I want to get more out of my engine, but the Jag world is very new to me. I'm not sure what is good or not; more importantly, what is safe and not.

I first installed an upper pulley (I think before anyone else on the forum was modding the engine) and found that I had been misled regarding the amount of reduction that it would provide (2.5% instead of 9%). I then installed the lower pulley. The lower pulley if purchased from VAP or Eurotoys will overdrive the SC by 11-12% (others provide half that), and by itself is perfect for the TVS R1320 SC on the V6S. Since I have both pulleys resulting in a 14% SC overdrive, my engine begins to lose steam just over 6500 rpm where the SC efficiency starts to fade precipitously. If I could find an OEM upper pulley, I would revert back to that. Also, if returning the car back to stock is a consideration, the lower pulley is far easier to swap than the upper which can be deformed when removed.

Yep, I have the Eurotoys crank pulley and VAP tune and it revs out to 7,000 rpm with no fade, it just keeps pulling and pulling until it hits the rev limiter.
Before the pulley & tune it ran out of puff at around 6,500 rpm.
Of course I have the auto whereas Lance has the manual but in Dynamic & Sport (manual) mode I don't think that makes much difference to how the engine performs.

BTW, does anyone have an OEM upper V6 pulley in good condition? Or a reduction pulley for a V8 that you aren't planning to use?

The upper is usually destroyed on removal.

Eurocharged claims to have a puller they loan out to their customers that will leave the OEM pulley intact. Whether that actually is the case, I've never come across an upper pulley that has remained unbent.

doing it, with my best tech, at my performance shop, with a custom made puller to specifically do it, we came close. but ultimately it wasn't worth keeping when it was all said and done.

The pulley puller for the Mustang Cobra works well on the F-Type and will not damage the original pulley.
