Default Phone Charger in Lighter socket

So I have a phone charger that has a LED voltage readout. This stays on even when the car is switched off. Any concern with battery drain or is it inconsiquential?

Thanks

I wouldn't give this car any help in draining a battery.

Agreed. Unless you're leaving the car off for less than 30 minutes, I wouldn't.

AKC - funny!

17Jag are you talking about the one under the stereo as opposed to the one in the compartment? I keep a blue neon usb dual charger up front and it turns off in under ten minutes.

Not sure about the one in the cubby. My guess is it turns off also. An LED voltage reader would use very little energy. IF it shuts off within a reasonable time.

Are you sure yours is staying on indefinitely? If so, does the hazard triangle stay lit also? You may have the documented power management issue.

Yes, its the one under the stereo. The hazard switch does not stay on. I will plug it in and check it in 15 minutes or so...thanks

That is odd, every jag model I have owned since 2010 to my 2017 always kills power to these sockets shortly after the doors lock. I sometimes even tap power on these sockets since I know they go to sleep so I don't get that dead or weak battery.

No it definitely takes a few minutes - my guess is ten. For items like a USB charger no big deal. Going to LED lighting might help that a bit also.

Default Power

It seems that the cigarette lighter and hazard switch go off in about 10 minutes with the car unlocked. When you lock the car, the cigarette lighter goes off at once, and the hazard switch takes a few minutes.

All is good! This works just fine.
