started the j car this am and that little pic of the motor shows up . checked information , oil fine sez ok for all else . car runs fine . thinking it is a sensor any ideas, thanks in advance

 

The little picture of the motor is the “check engine” light. Reference page 37 of your manual. Need to get codes read out. If light begins to flash, it’s urgent.

 

Buy or rent a decent OBD2 reader. I just bought a reader because it only takes 1-2 trips to a shop to pay for one. If you never work on your cars... oh well, take it to a shop.

 

The CEL, Check Engine Light may illuminate if your gas cap isn't snug and you may want to check your coolant container cap for the required 3 clicks to make sure it's on correctly. I don't remember if the coolant cap issue will turn on the CEL, but do check this anyway.

Also, if you had a drastic temperature change,, like warm to cold, this may make the CEL come on. It did that on the MY2017 that I have. Be careful using the OBD readers. Some of them create battery drain issues if the session is not closed out properly... there are whole threads devoted to this.
