Took my buddy Paul flying this morning. He met me with his '12 458. I let him fly, he let me drive! We later visited the Lingenfelter collection (he is the Jay Leno of Michigan - he privately owns 150 cars, including a Laferrari, an Enzo, and a tons of Corvettes. Impressive.
Ken himself fired up the Enzo. If you haven't heard an Enzo... wow.
The Bugatti Veyron was mightily impressive too. Apparently, at top speed of 250mpg, the quad turbo car will burn through a tank of gas in 12 minutes. The custom only tires cost $25k, made special just for the Veyron, and have to be installed in France for $70k.
This collection is truly world class. They open it up to the public a couple of times a year. Its worth a drive. Very special.
That Lingenfelter collection is something. Below are some pics I took when I was there a few years ago.
A nice burgundy V8 S pulled up beside me in B'ham this weekend. Not as gorgeous as my white R, but he had a pretty co-pilot and I was driving solo. Not sure who wins on that score!
