Pleasant insurance upcharge for new jaguar
I don't pay much more for my '16 F-Type than I do my '02 MINI either. It's surprising.
I think mine went up about $100 (per 6 mos. renewal) going from a 2013 BMW 535i. Not bad at all considering the change from a cushy mass-produced sedan to a sport coupe. I pay about $900/6 mos.
Yep, I pay a bit more but not a lot more for the F-Type than I do for my son's Mazda 3, $1618 pa for the F-Type and $1070 pa for the Mazda. The F-Type is valued at around $90,000 and the Mazda around $22,000.
The Mazda is registered and insured in my name even though it really is my son's car, it works out a lot cheaper for him that way as he is under 25 and here in South Oz the insurance robber barons charge huge premiums for under 25s (as they supposedly are an increased crash risk). Also, the Mazda is brand spanking new, the replacement for his previous Mazda 3 which was written off in a "no fault of his" crash.

I wish I could say the same. My Insurance jumped $200 a year from the AMG and Z4 M Sport and $250 - $300 from my two C6 Corvettes. I'm told it's because of the high prices involve with repairing a Jaguar.
