There seems to be no rhyme or reason to any of this. The only thing I've ever received from JLR since purchasing my car almost a year ago is a recall notice. I didn't even receive the shirt discount coupon, but that would have gone in the recycling bin anyway.

I bought the R and didn't recieve a letter either. When I learned of this benefit through this forum, I went online to the Performance Academy site and signed up. That was 4 months ago. Nothing.

I also bought a new XJL for the wife on the same day as I bought the R. The only thing i received in return was the keys.

Fine with me but a little surprising as I agree with Jay's earlier post that "a little goes a long way".

I got a very nice package of gifts from my dealer today. (Not from Jaguar, but the dealer.. Park Place)

Apparently all buyers of luxury cars through the dealership get a nice thank you package including:

Free steak dinner at Ruth Chris
Free Seafood Platter at Capital Grill
Discount on personalized plates
Free bottle of Titus Andronicus red wine
$20 off Kirbys steakhouse
Free Dessert at Cantina Laredo
Free "mens spa package" - Haircut, paraffin hand dip, shampoo, scalp massage, facial massage, steamed towel, hand massage, and styling at "The Boardroom"
2 tickets to the Dallas Arboretum
5 free days of Valet parking at DFW Airport
and... various discounts at local high end merchants...

Overall.... VERY nice touch. I'll be eating and drinking well.

I must say, the shirt my wife purchased with that $150 coupon - plus the $100 additional - is quite nice. And at $250, it should be.

And TXJagR: you've apparently hit the mother lode of "thanks for your purchase". While you're not going to buy any car based on the gifts you've received, it's certainly not going to hurt going forward and leaves you with wonderful thoughts about your dealer. I feel the same way - although all I received was "thanks", and the car - although many here do not.

A set of the F-Type luggage? I've wondered about that - mainly how (if) you can cram all 5 pieces into the boot (with or without a load of clothing).

For any of you that are unfamiliar, Georg Jensen is one of the worlds premier makers of silverware, and the official silverware maker to the Danish Royal family. This particular piece retails for several hundred dollars. How very nice and quite unexpected!
I received the same gift yesterday. Very classy touch indeed

Hey, I am overjoyed, as I just received a great gift from Jaguar as well! I got a "Ghetto Blaster" with Apple earphones and a pair of spare batteries. I am so overjoyed, and now I have super bass, but there is an unfortunate part! I can't travel anywhere with my wife, as this new toy takes the passenger seat. Oh well.....

Did the accompanying note say:" Take this and quit bitching about the Meridian"?

It occurred to me that that a nice thank you gift may well be a function of the size of the discount one negotiated off MSRP.

I got nothing, except for a very nice 15% off MSRP on a left-over '14. I'll take that "gift" any day over any other I've seen here. JLR appears to leave this practice up to individual dealers, and I doubt those who've gotten beaten up for a big discount are in much more of a giving mood.

Good point. At only 5% off, I should get 3 times as much as you got. Oh, wait...

I'll be happy just to finally get the car.

Nah Ihoboy, the note actually stated...."thanks for staying the course with the 44.1% of the folks who say that this system Rattles and is poor or both, and the 58% who say it is "OK", plus rattles and is poor or both. Feel free to use these until we resolve together in the professional way we have been working to achieve the original expected result". Not bad, wouldn't you say?

Bitch away all of us 58% ers........, BITCH AWAY!

The "problem", the way I see it and based on the OP, is simply that most of us do not live (rather, get our cars) in Dallas or Melbourne.

Wait for the Brazilian experience, I got a nice bottle of wine, do not remember what it was but it was around 80/90 dollars, a Jaguar Watch nicely encased, chocolates, and they pick my car every time that it goes on maintenance and deliver it with a tow truck at no cost. The GM of that dealership lives very close to where I live and we always chat in a local coffee shop.

I got a white Lilly plant in the mail from my dealer. So odd and so random!
